the point is not to hit the boss but to dodge as many bullets as possible cuz some times the boss just randomly exploded when the round takes soo long

+patrick susulin That is a timeout feature in shooter games to keep the cycle from looping. The same feature is also in the gradius series, which comes in handy when you are fighting bosses with no power ups and you can use the safe spot to avoid the enemy fire.
