I always love watching Jeff’s reviews. Seemed like a really great old fashioned kind of guy. He seems like the kind of person that even though you didn’t now him, you could sit down and talk to him and listen to stories all day. And watching him shoot these big guns never ceases to amaze me! Takes the massive recoil and blast like it’s not even there. RIP and Godspeed Jeff

Fantastic & informative video. I especially am interested in the shooting velocities and accuracy of the 3.5" 500 magnum. I was particularly impressed with the ransom rest results of this model. Excellent video, about gun handling, by GunBlastdotcom, on how to shoot the Big-Bore revolvers. The proper grip & stance is needed. There are numerous videos on KZbin, showing people being bonked in the head, due to the recoil. ... Plus, GunBlast demonstrated waiting on a cartridge (old ammunition) that didn't fire, because of its age.

tiggerr42431 especially if you load true Keith bullets, where most of the bullet is outside the case. Couple extra grains of powder and yeah. Big boy toy. Honestly, I load a 240gr hardcast Keith style over a max load of 2400. I've only put one over the chrono and it was 1562 (super blackhawk hunter). As far as penetration is concerned, I shot a spike last year with a 240xtp and max 2400. He was facing me and it went all the way through lengthwise. Found the bullet a few inches below grade. Still weighed 236.6gr, expanded about .690". Perfect. Idk how many deer the hardcast would shoot through lengthwise hahaha. Might try the Remington 240sjhp for more explosive expansion this year. All hornady is controlled expansion so I think a broadside heart/lung shot might be more effective if the slug fragments a little bit. But you can always smash the shoulder to pieces😊

The 500 JRH also works in the 500 Smith and Wesson magnum and works well. I sent my 500 6.5 inch long half-lug barrel to Cylinder and Slide and they set my barrel back because the barrel cylinder gap was over specifications by a large margin. You can use their service to do the same sir.

Love the videos. Fascinating hand guns. We don't see much of that stuff down here in Australia. Hey, just a little bit of helpful advice if you'd like it. I saw that you had to refer to some notes during your presentation. When filming, a lot of people use que cards behind the camera, directly over the lense with the information points that they'd like to present to the viewers. Makes things a lot more easy during filming, and nobody knows that you're reading the info. Nice natural presentation. From the viewers perspective, you're looking at the camera. Hope that helps. Keep up the great videos.
