Gundala First Time Reaction

The sequel for this movie is in the works. It'll be called Gundala - Son of Lightning. It will tell the backstory of why Sancaka has the lightning power & why it makes him strong. The enemy for the sequel will be the zombie guy who was resurrected by the evil-looking guy & his bald henchman. Based on the info I've got, the zombie guy was an evil wizard in the ancient era who mastered necromancy & other black magics. He was defeated & locked up underground by a warrior who could control lightning. Sancaka is the descendant of that warrior. Later, Gundala will join the other heroes to form some kind of Indonesian Avengers, fighting the evil goddess of fire, who will be the big bad boss like Thanos in MCU.

The quality is still far from Marvel or DC. But I am sure that in the future they will continue to improve their quality. I really hope their universe can be representative of Asia. I wasn't expecting anything more, but being able to approach the quality of Marvel or DC is pretty amazing.

I think Indonesia is trying to develop their own cinema universe. I think their inspiration is Marvel and DC. Indonesia also has Bumilangit and Satria Dewa.

@joe_demian I'm definitely waiting for the next addition to this franchise that they're building up. I love their take on the superhero genre and I believe this will big for them once it's all in full swing I just hate that it's taking so long for them to drop the next part to this film series 😤...

There's already 3 movies coming out of this cinematic universe, Gundala, Sri Asih (last year), Virgo & The Sparklings (this month).

@@coolrj55 Sri Asih getting available on streaming by the end of this month for Indonesian Disney+, maybe it'll took a little awhile for the distribution in North America. But it's also SK Global produced the movie, hopefully anytime sooner for you.

if you want to see the boy who help sancaka. You can see it in the post credit scene in the film Sri Asih. His name is Awang (Godam) and he also has super powers 👍

@Irvan Mane I ain't know if this was going to be a horror movie or superhero movie the way this started 😂😂... Oh wow 😮 so the director is known for horror films. What's some of the notable horror films he's directed??

@@coolrj55 Satan's Slaves (2017) it's a remake of Indonesian horror movie with the same title from 1980, the sequel just came out few months ago Satan's Slaves 2: Communion (2022), Impetigore (2019), one of my favorite movie by him The Forbidden Door (2009) but it's more of psychological thriller. These are the ones that available in US, mostly on Shudder. There's also Queen of Black Magic that he wrote but directed by different guy. The guy that made The Night Comes For Us, Timo Tjahjanto also has horror stuff, May The Devil Take You (2018), the sequel May The Devil Take You Too (2020), he also made another action, also Netflix original called The Big 4, a little fun action comedy last December, (the guy who played Gundala is the main guy in that movie, and maybe you recognize him as Fatih in The Night Comes For Us as well)

@Irvan 😮 maaaaaaaan I think you just gave me a whole lot of horror movies to check out... I do hope they truly meet a level of true horror 😌. I'm a big horror fan but haven't heard of any of those films. I can't wait to see what they hitting on 😄....
