The Gundam EX is just ok to me, the whole playstyle straight up revolves around the tactical boost skill which in short provides boost efficiency when jumping after landing or meleeing as well as providing stun resistance when you are in the landing animation. It DOES NOT provide stun resistance while you are in mid-air, so you do have to make sure you are near the ground when jumping AND tap jumping horizontally to get the distance and stun resistance. Tactical boost is also to be used more like forced injectors in that I see a lot of people just jumping instead of boosting to cancel animations. In short, you basically play this suit like you're bunny hopping in a first gen Armored Core game and just hit-and-run on people with melee as the ONLY stun resistance is with that tactical boost skill when in that landing animation (No maneuver armor nor offense system) and because it does have strong melee damage. I'd use the kick as movement tech just to get myself to cover/around the corner and hope you don't get stunned in the process. Unfortunately, this suit is really fragile (Especially in leg HP) in practice so you REALLY have to be careful in how you engage. I would not use aerial melee as you're really close to the ground anyways. Keep in mind that since you are close to the ground that I find that the beam rifle won't fire and cancel the charge most of the time, so I would use the bazooka to get that quick stun on an enemy to topple. All in all, this suit is fun but hard to play. I don't think it's a meta suit, but it can do work if done right. Weirdly enough, I think a good chunk of 0083 suits do deserve Tactical Boost because you see it used quite a bit by suits like the Powered GM and GP01 in the OVA as well as giving them something to make them interesting again to play

I've been hearing some people comparing this to the Ez8, but is that accurate?

It definitely is a Gundam Ground Type variant. The head even looks like a modified EZ8 head with the typical V antenna replacing the rod antenna if you look closely. The chest looks like it borrows from the GP01 and GP03. It really looks like Frankenstein's monster in terms of Gundams. Like they took Gunpla and mixed and matched them to make this MS. Even the shield looks similar to the GP01's shield in a way. But sources claim the EX is a Gundam Ground Type variation.

@@DIEGhostfish​​⁠​⁠Its cockpit is located in the upper chest like the RX-79[G] and Ez8. Also, it does have both launch and battlefield boarding animations, but the launch one never plays in free practice for any suit, and Rob didn’t exit it during the demonstration.

@@SiegInvencivelI like this design. Was tired of seeing the same old rx78 / GM design but rehash. They gave us a unique design which I appreciate. I’m also a big fan of atlas gundam so maybe that’s why I really enjoy gundam ex design as well
