Greatest memories of that series was that India drew the series 1-1. Great century by Vishy here plus Kapil Dev taking 5 wickets to bowl out Australia in the second innings and level the series. Great comeback by India after being blown away in the first test by the frightening pace of Len Pascoe. Patil was the star and major find, of the series, in my opinion. Never flinched against pace and bounce and smashed 174 in the second test.

In the very first test that Vishwanath played he went for a duck in the first innings and dropped a catch after that while fielding. But then in the 2nd innings he hit a century, and Indians saw the most stylish and exquisite batting they had ever seen until then. To watch him execute a glance what just heaven. A great batsman, sadly not remembered as much as he deserves.

I still remember this contraversial test match. I was in 8th standard & listened the live commentry on Radio which would begin early in the morning at 5.30 AM.. Eventually India won the match by bowling Australia out for 81only requiring 143 to win. By winning this test match levelled the Test series 1-1 against Australia in Australia.. Splendid performaces by Kapil Dev, Man of the match Vishwanath, Doshi & all others. Ghavari clean bowling Greg Chappel on zero was a stunning moment...

When i first begun to understand cricket, I used to hear about Gundappas Heroics, as at that time no T.V were available. but the first and last time i saw gundappa was his last Pakistans tour somewhere in 1981, after that he retired.
