the irish water spaniel was handled so well!!! realy nice loose leash. The american cocker looked lifted by the leash. Love the friendly hands of the relaxed handlers!!!!

Arthur (the black lab) is an absolute unit! So glad my boy Bear came from him! He's got the darkest coat for a chocolate lab I've ever seen. People can't take their eyes off him when they see him! I love my boy so much

I would love to see a Munsterlander in person; I've seen a Small Munsterlander, but not the "large" black and white beauty. I love the Bracco Italiano; the Irish Setter; the Cocker, the Sussex, the Welsh, the Golden Retriever (nice to see one with an apparent working dog coat). So many beautiful dogs!

Especially loved my favorite Curly-Coat & Irish Water Spaniel, and the Lagotto, Spanish Water Doggy, GWP, wire Vizsla, Longhaired Pointer, Munsterlander, and Korthals (wish we had those last 3 in the US.) I tend to think of Fields as being only liver. Interesting to see the varying colors and appearances from one continent to another. Liver Flattie doesn't look as much like our Golden/Berner cross as the blacks, haha. Britt has so much more roaning than ours did; so cute both ways. x3 Congrats to the 4 winners; judge seemed to be intentionally ramping up the tension. xD Or just being very slow and deliberate and having some trouble making up his mind...understandable.

The GLP exists in AKC; it’s under the FSS (Foundation Stock Service) still but it’s there! They’re getting more and more popular in the hunting community. The Small Munsterlander is in AKC; the Large isn’t but it’s essentially a GLP of a different colour.

My fourth springer spaniel Mimi may not be fancy enough to win best of breed at Crufts. But I will tell at finding cricket balls from Totteridge cricket club or tennis balls at Woodside Park tennis club , she takes some beating. She has her collection of 100 balls and plays her own version of the 100 ! AND the way she catches a tennis ball on the volley from 40 meters or more .She is a better fielder than half the English cricket team !

These are show dogs which is fine. They would not last long actually working. I have had Labs for 40+ years and and they worked in the field retrieving. They look nothing like the Lab in this show, they are breed for performance not looks.

Some breeds have diverged rather dramatically, like Labs and Springers, but not all. I have Field Spaniels, and many, many of them show and hunt to great success.

I very much doubt that any of these dogs would be able to find and retrieve a pheseant or any game bird. They are all just for show, I wouldn't waste good feed on any of them. Crufts is about interbreeding for show not about dog welfare. That should start a few off! Ha,

Completely agree.. it's almost cruel Crufts. I have a working cocker spaniel and it's build it much more appealing and capable than most of these dogs which look overweight..

I mean most of the spaniels looks pretty similar to their working counterparts, with the exception exception of the English springer spaniel but that’s just because working bread English springer spaniels and show bread English spaniels have been genetically different for over 70+ years. And I know many working spaniels who looks pretty much identical to their show counterparts.

@@meghan1866 I have worked Springers all my life. I have three currently and to call the best in show springer a gundog is laughable. The cocker spaniel is the same. The lab is nothing like a working dog either it's fat. They are lean so they can work all day

@@liamwhite9718 I mean I understand what you’re saying I have Springer for most of my life, but don’t really understand why you’re so upset about the looks of a show dog. They’re part of the gun dog family but they where bread to be show dogs, so they’re going to look different than a working dog. When they say that there best in show they’re not saying that this is the ideal version of the perfect dog and all dog of that breed should look that way, They are saying one the is dog physically healthy, and two it is physically beautiful. This is basically a dog pageant, not who is the fastest and most efficient dog it’s who is the most beautiful dog.
