I've heard of that, and know a few people who have tried it, but I've never been able to use it since I have Android phones, and as far as I've seen it's only available for iPhones, but would be good for people that have one to try it.

I was warned not to dry fire my Uberti as it may mess with the hole where the firing pin goes thru the frame... does the laser cartridge also work like a snap cap or empty case to prevent this?
@fastdraw1012 жыл бұрын
Yes, it acts like a snap cap, stopping the hammer from full force contact with the frame.

How much is a good full timer set up and all else you need? I’m thinking I have about $2,500 to get a gun or two, thinking Taylor or Cimarron and sending one off for fanning work and the other some trigger. I want to get into this as my 2019 goal by May or June and by December or the next winter and Standard Manufacturing in 5.5-7.5.

You have a couple of options for timers you can check out: JJ Timers at jjtimers.com/ , or the CFDA at www.cowboyfastdraw.com/generalstore/index.php/timers.html . The CFDA also sells the targets. For fanning, I wouldn't recommend any gun other than the old model Ruger Blackhawk tuned for fanning by someone who knows what they're doing. They are pretty much the only guns you'll find in use at fanning contests, because all other guns break down. I have seen one or two Ruger New Vaqueros used after heavy modifications, but wouldn't rely on them. Fanning takes a hard toll on a gun, and even the normally very sturdy Ruger New Vaquero when stock will break down very quickly. I know, I had to have the cylinders replaced on two of them after only a few hundred fans, and know others in the same boat. My Blackhawks have held up for decades, but they were specially modified for fanning, and are .357 converted to .45, so smaller frames and cylinders, which can take the stress on the cylinder notches. Colts and clones especially don't hold up very well. Good luck with it.
