GUNGEON VS ISAAC: THE BEST ROGUELIKE?

Hello friends, in tonight's long awaited video, I will be painstakingly and scientifically deducing which game is truly the best, Enter the Gungeon or The Binding of Isaac. Join me as we uncover the truth behind society's greatest roguelikes!

Well, technically, The Binding of Isaac have a flawless victory, because have giant possibilities. Your runs can have different paths, and also different places of ending. You can play as 13 characters and their 13 alternative forms. Your items have a great possibility to synergies, you will never have absolutely same. And many different monsters and bosses (the last one always the reandomised, you will never know who you will meet in the first floor this time, Monstro or Larries, or someone else). While ETG... Well... Its a good game, but unlike TBOI, you don't have an alternative paths (you have an additional levels, but even if you will pass through all of them, you will end up in Bullet Hell, as always), your guns don't have so much synergies (some of them have, yeah, but its not comparable how Isaac's tears can change through the run), you have only 8 characters (4 original and 4 secret), and most importantly: There's a low ammount of bosses. Mobs maybe have many variations, but you can feel how bosses are boring. You always know that at the 1 floor you can meet only 1 out of 3 bosses, so you will always know what to wait. And, also, what makes me wish to play TBOI more, than ETG, is that the last one's runs are... Pretty same. You always clear the floor, get two chests, then go to boss, kill it, move to another floor (doesn't matter, secret one or normal), and that's your way to Lich, the only final boss you have. While TBOI runs can have a different endings. Like: You can try to go to Angel Rooms to get key and beat Mega Satan, or try to build something powerful with items to try to beat Delirium, or even decide to go through the alternative floors to beat The Mother, and that's only the paths that I can remember there, but you have more! Your runs there also can have different goals, like: "Today I want to finish my character list", or "I'm just gonna play for some fun", and also: "I have some problems with this floor/boss, I need training", etc. So, that's how The Binding of Isaac is better than Enter the Gungeon. ETG can give you hundreds hours of fun, while TBOI can give thousands!

Well I do think content isn’t everything, I do prefer quality over quantity in my games even though Isaac wins overall IMO. Also, Gungeon does have alternate routes. You can go to the secret Rat boss with gnawed key or the H&R department with sell creep. Also the sewer floor using chamber 1. I’m not saying this is super substantial content, but there are alternate paths in Gungeon. I do agree that the only true final boss being Lich is kind of a letdown, though
