Can you do a size comparison once you get your large gunner kennel? Can you show your dog in the intermediate gunner kennel and then the large? Hello how big is Riot? I have a 55lbs female Mal and also a 65lbs Male Mal and Gunner recommends getting the intermediate. I’m using them for in the back of my truck when I go to the training field and that’s really when they will be in there. They free roam in the house but I would like them to feel comfortable at the field as well while waiting for their turn. Thank you in advance.

Wolverine4x4 They have sizing info in their website and their is also a Facebook group dedicated to helping people figure out the right size for their dogs. They are meant to be a snug fit for safety purposes. I’m general though, if you have a GSD I would go ahead and purchase their largest crate.... 😳 I sent back 2 of my intermediate for the large (which is the biggest size they come in)

They look great. The fact that they got a 5-star crash test rating makes them worth every penny for sure. I had a feeling it’s a little too small for Riot. He’s gonna be more comfy in a bigger one 🙂

Yes, they are super safe which was the biggest selling point for me. And Riot definitely needed the large lol They are a bit snug but I think they are supposed to be... its kind of like a baby car seat. Lol

GSD Bear They are huge which is kind of a drawback for me since they won’t fit in my Jeep with my seats up :/ But to sacrifice size may sacrifice the safety of the kennel. So I guess the good outweighs the bad 😁

kenneth clay I got the intermediate size but I am exchanging two of them for the larger size. Riot looked uncomfortable to me. It seemed a bit too snug for his liking. So we are waiting on the larges to arrive!

Honestly it’s less about weight and more about height and length. They have dimensions and measurement recommendations on their website 👍🏼

I have had a gunner crate for the past year with my big boy malinois. I totally love it, except for one thing. If I don't lock the top and bottom switches. My guy can get himself out the door.

My Vizsla also gets himself out of the Gunner easily without the locks switched. Although with the lock switched he injured himself and eventually chewed his way enough to bend the plastic door, popping it open, wish Gunner made a metal liner for the door like some other brands. So far only solid metal commercial style kennels work for him. For your knowledge crash test is that the dog will stay in the crate in an accident not that the dog will not get hurt.

She doesn’t. I had to send it back to get a large. Only Fury fits in the intermediate because she’s so small. She’s 40lbs and she’s short lol

It’s not soft and barely seems any better than laying on the kennel floor. But something is better than nothing and my dogs can have soft bedding or they rip it apart.

His parents are both large Malinois so Im expecting him to be large as well. Thought since its time to upgrade might as well get one of these for him.

Both but it’s not easy.. bulky and heavy. The Large size has wheels on the back so you can move it a little easier but it stills weighs a ton. The intermediate has no wheels and doesn’t roll. But they are the safest crates on the road to travel with...
