Wow,you need to cut down on your caffeine!😂 My son went to jail on a minor drug charge,at 25,but later the charge was dropped. He was coming down off drugs when he got in there. He got a Latino celly,but it turned out to be ok. The dude kinda took him in and taught the ropes of the place. My son was really grateful and respectful to him for this. They got on good. Taught him how to play poker and dominos, how not to own nobody nothing. At that time,he was the only white guy in the pod they were in. He only spent 6 weeks in. When he got out,my son left his canteen items to his celly,and his books. He never went back in again! And he’s been sober for 3 years this past February 12! So proud of him!

That’s wonderful your son has been able to stay sober!!!! It’s a long, hard road but absolutely worth it!!! I’m a drug and alcohol counselor but I have lots of life experience and have been through similar situations as your son. I’ve been in recovery for just under four years now. I can’t believe how much my life has changed for the better. The fact that I’m able to help others now is a beautiful thing as well. Best wishes to you and your family.

And then i was facing 20 years in prison. And i started to question what i was doing. Its like a light switch turned on. Now i am single father raising 3 kids, and i dont care about anything else. Im 41, and i didnt turn my life around until 35. So im in the right place. 💪🏻😎

I have CPTSD due to childhood trauma. I have almost taken myself out many times, but fight through it. You are doing the right thing right, keeping it together for your kid and staying out of prison. I have tried therapy and I have built up such a wall I can’t let therapist in. That said. KZbin has five. Me the best tools to help myself get past the trauma. Also, there is a great podcast called Mental Illness Happy Hour. A comedian who was on TV some time ago has some famous, not so famous, experts, doctors, people with interesting stories about overcoming their mental illness, demons, crappy childhoods.. Every episode I feel I have a group of people that understand me. Like I am amongst friends, as weird as it sounds. Point being, once we start understanding what we came from, why we are angry, where our anger, depression, etc., comes from and it is a healing tool that has helped me a ton. I hope you find your way and from one trauma survivor to another, much love. 💗

First of all I’d like to say how much I like this channel. You just strike me as good people. I’ve been an educator a long time and a common thread that I’ve noticed with many of the individuals who’ve been incarcerated is ADHD. I noticed that many of the students ( diagnosed or not) had a tendency to have problems with behavior. Personally, I believe that they are just as lovable and intelligent as the others…. just much more difficulty concentrating etc.. Also believe that if more students are diagnosed early enough, a lot of behavior related problems and incarcerations could be prevented. I’m disappointed that more research hasn’t been done. I’d be interested in what your thoughts are on the topic and if you believe ADHD truly is the root of most incarcerated people’s problems.
@carbino10557 ай бұрын
@Maraj493 - See I would have to disagree with you on that one. To me ADHD is just an excuse to cover children's bad behavior & for parents to collect a check. Kids are a ball of energy. Kids also need to have self control. Parents need to make their kids sit down and don't move. This helps a kid form their self control. Parents need to start pushing back against the system. My oldest child, school officials came to me with this ADHD ploy. I let them know my kid doesn't act like this at home. So right there I know there's no ADHD cause I know my child. They tried their imitation tactics. Threatening with DCFS & separating me & my child. I stood firm cause I knew my kid. Finally after suggesting they keep a journal to find a pattern in his behavior, they realized he would act up at nap time. He wanted to sit & read. School mandated a nap. My son wasn't used to a nap. We didn't nap at home. My son went on to have good grades, was on National Honor Society in high school, became a published author in high school by having his poem displayed in a published book of poetry. Now he's a Senior Air Man with our US Air Force to this day. Where would he be if he was on ADHD meds all his life? Parents know your kids & never be afraid to always fight for yours.

@@trelard I respect what you are saying bro but that’s not what happened with his story unfortunately. When he was in YA he snitched on somebody and it caught up with him later when he went to prison so instead of getting stabbed by the entire yard, he locked it up
