This sounds really familiar this correction officer here in Maryland did something just like that and I heard from everyone I know that either works there or has been there at the facility he's at said he's constantly getting his trays taken his commissary and he always gets beat down and the correction officers just let it happen

I was a cop for 6 years. I ended up going to prison 5 years after resigning from the "force". It's not really about being a cop. It's about how you carry yourself. I was asked more legal questions and asked to write letters mostly. I had someone come up to me and ask whoi was and what I was in for. He had already checked my papers before I got there. If I had lied it would've been my ass.

My ex, when she was at her worst, was followed home by someone (random person) because she was to f'ed up to actually be driving, and they turned her in. Since they wouldn't tell her who did it for safety reasons, they did actually deliver a letter to them from her, actually thanking them for looking out for her, and even tho she got arrested, it was the wake up call she needed. If your life is really bad, you shouldn't be mad at the police or anyone who gets you in trouble, since in the end it's probably the best thing that could happen.

As a ex C.O. of 1 year and long term convicted felon (cannabis related) I didn't back up unjust BS and let grabbing an extra tray, smoking indoors, and tattooing, ride. As a C.O. all I did was catch 💩 from brass. I was advised I was too kind to inmates and had a juvenile record which I served my sentence as a adult which only compounded the matter. TBH I regret ever being an officer.

I'm sorry, this is why there needs to be a whole separate organization that essentially polices people in power, not just cops but judges, senators, governors, the president basically anyone that may be able to use their position to cover their ass. Then every cop needs to have body and dash cams that they have no control over. Covering or otherwise disabling the cameras is grounds for immediate termination and the footage goes to the other organization. The cops don't even get to look at it first. It gets reviewed and if they do something wrong, they are dealt with accordingly. On top of that, the police should have to have a 2 year degree that includes a good deal of law. Just to start is 2 years. To move up they should have to have more school. Bachelors to be a detective, masters to be in command and a doctorate to be chief or sherrif. Learning more law as they go. Most cops don't know the law and that is disgusting. Then, they should make considerably more than they do. Then if you are found to be knowingly doing anything to help another cop cover their ass, that is a 5 year felony by itself. Lastly, any felony that a cop is found guilty of carries a double sentence. I think a system like this would make them stop and think about violating someone's civil rights. I also think instead of having a prosecutor and a pool of public defenders there should be a pool of lawyers that randomly get assigned to every case as possibly the public defender or the prosecutor. As of now the deck is super stacked and that's bullshit
