Been a thing since the M1A1. You can get a 10 digit MGRS Coordinate is you lase somewhere basednoff the range you get and your azimuth. It's pretty fun to use to call for fire (artillery basically)

@@Bundesfaust Huh, sweet- I wanted to go military but can't eat MREs due to a malabsorption disorder, so I content myself with simulators. The best tank game I know is Gunner, Heat, PC (how I found this video, looking up random stuff) and the newest one they've modeled is the M1IP. It's also a sim-lite game, not a real sim, so they don't model some of the more complicated features, but it's pretty fun.

Im super hardcore when it comes to sims so I'm definitely more of a steel beasts guy but I think GHPC is really good for those who want a good balance between SB and something like War Thunder. Frankly i wish war thunder played like GHPC.

I just enlisted as a 19kilo, I was originally a 0671 in the marines corps(IT job) . Being in a tank is extremely fun. I got to ride the loaders spot for a dog and pony show to show of the m1a1 SA. That thing throws you around and has zero regard for anyone. But it’s super fun, I haven’t been on gunnery yet that’s what this video is. Best job I’ve ever had. Going 45 feels great in the summer being out of the hatch wind blowing.

@@tylerduchesne7274 That's me, the gunner saying that. It's infinitely easier to just read the first, or first 2 digits in hundreds than to think about whether or not you should round that number. The TC can see the range in the CITV screedn and the GPSE so he knows what the actual system is saying. Also even if you got, for example 1200m on a target that's actually 1360m from you or something, if you're aiming center mass you're still hitting it with KE since you're technically good with in +/- 400m of the true range.

The line over the range indicates multiple returns recieved from the LRF. Basically meaning two ranges were deduced when you lased. It doesnt mean its neccissarily wrong, but it could be. The box indicates whether or not the main gun or coax solenoid is armed or connected. If you watch and listen for the loader saying "UP!", at the same time you'll see that box appear.

On the Army's website it lists the minimum requirements and describes what your basic duties and expected performance will be. It's not hard if you actually want it and are hungry for knowledge and are willing to apply what you learn and improve yourself in that job and ultimately become a better soldier, tanker, and eventually leader. I will say if you do that, all of the hard times are gonna be some of the best when you're with your crew and platoon in the shit getting rained on or breaking track in the summer sun. Most fun job ive ever had. I should do a Q&A lol.
