Lee has a point in terms of Conte getting them in shape short-term, that's something Potter probably wouldn't be able to do because nobody in that dressing room would respect him enough

@@belgradewanderer why would you want to have a short term fix which comes with more long term issues? Conte isn't someone who works with what he has, he wants to bring his own bodies in and he's a confrontational guy. There's no guarantee he succeeds short term and long term it serves no benefit. A team is better off missing out on Europe and putting the right structures in place to be more competitive for years to come, than forcing a toxic situation in the hope you get a short term reward, neglecting obvious issues that come with it.

I agree with Lee. Conte with EtH power, he would have gotten us playing counter attacking football. He will bin the guys who don't work. Potter will play pretty football but he ain't got the facilities to handle Mctominay's and Maguire's, I remember Havertz playing over Aubameyang who is a proven striker. Potter wants to be liked so he would be Ole 2.0.

I'm a Chelsea fan and I can tell you first hand, I'd take Potter back right now over Poch, and Conte. Potter is a decent and builds decent patterns of play. I would say he's not an elite manager, but he would defo be a building block manager ahead of your next appointment of manager.

If we should've got Conte it was better we got him after Ole was sacked at the time we had players where he could've played a back 5 and before he was linked with us he wanted he was thinking about Pogba, Martial and Sancho to build around CR7 who those players would have been better suited for any 9 we had at the time. We had Matic and Fred as well so he would have played one of them in a pivot with Pogba with either two strikers or a front 3. Conte definitely would've not rated the likes of Bruno, Maguire, Shaw and Rashford because he don't play with 10s and one thing Conte don't like liabilities if he can build his own squad. Maybe he should've came after Ole. The problem we wasted time giving Ralf the interim instead of giving him the DOF job ASAP. I don't even think he recommend Ten Hag because he was looking at managers who had similar style to Ralf's philosophy like a Klopp style and we ended up with this fraud who wanted full control of transfers and players even refuse to work with Ralf and they binned him for that bald fraud. When he called Maguire "a great player and achieved alot" that alone was a red flag. I wouldn't mind Potter if he installs his philosophy ASAP and bring in the ballers and senior players on his side. One thing is if he sticks with his philosophy which means good possession football he'll definitely drop the dead ballers who can't keep the ball or liabilities on the ball. The likes of Bruno, Rashford, Maguire, McTominay, Shaw won't be part of his plans unless he gets pressured by the new owners coming in but if we have a proper DOF they will work with him or whoever the manager is to analyse the profile of players for a pacific style of play and if we're gonna playing possession football those bums will be binned

Rants hear me out. I dont mind Potter to be responsible for a rebuild. I really do not ! BUT. Antonio Conte has presided over one of the biggest and best rebuilds in European football. That of Juventus after they got relegated. Yes Juve get favourable refereeing and all that. BUT. Conte build a team that kept on doing well even after 5 years he was gone. Where I would be against Conte is if we bring him in to win a title. Cause Conte will not win a title in 3 years here. However if we can convince him to come in for a long term project he would be amazing IMO. And about him being a dickhead. We need a dickhead with all the snowflakes in our club.

his brand of football is outdated man, emery and simeone are the only last managers of that kind that are surviving. WIth that being said i dont want Potter either but he's a better option. in an ideal world i would take good football structure with a flick or ZZ BUT thats unlikely

@@factsguy421 its not that I do not want Potter. I honestly think anyone can be better than ETH, cause ETH is a fraud. IF they bring Conte for fast results then Rants is 100% right. My point is that Conte can actually build clubs for the long term. As about the brand of football. You are right its outdated. But it does work. I honestly do not know whats best for us atm. My ideal manager to build our future would be Marcelo Gallardo . He manager River and is now at Ittihad . Have followed his career for a few years now and IMO is one of the most promising new managers. Sadly none in England will ever go for him cause ppl in charge of footballl in England are rubbish at finding new managerial talents.

Not a chance have Man Utd got better players than Newcastle or Spurs. Is Onana better than Pope..No. Trippier is better than Wan Bissaka, the same with Botman over Maguire, Bruno G and Joelinton compared to Mctominay and Amrabaat. Is Antony and Garnacho better than Almiron and Gordon again no. Wilson and Isak are also alot better than Martial and Hojlund so how do Man Utd have better players than Newcastle 😂

Yep Rants all the way on this. Utd need a total refit and Conte is not the man for this. Not sure Potter is either. Id go an get Emery. Absolute class manager, very shrewed transfers and master tactician. He is loyal though, may not ditch Villa.
