My husband and I were at this show. I also own a Gunner On Ice colt and these Smoking Gun horses are phenomenal! We also met again with Hank Weiscamp and got his signed and autographed book as we bought a 1994 branded stud colt from him. He is dearly missed. We still have that colt we bought from him and that horse is now 25 years old and still going strong! :-D

I found out the hard way with one of these babies. He couldn't hear a single thing. You get what you get I guess. Very prominent in his breeding.

Yeah, a real treat. in 2019 he was still ranked the top sire in NRHA followed by 2 sons for 2nd and 3rd spot followed by his half brother's son for the 4th spot. That is pretty dominant. Though his mama, Katie Gun, is tying all this together so she deserves a lot of the glory too. I guess he is a 3-year-old in this video - what a chillax guy.

Got a grandson of him Ip Gunner Spark deaf as well anyway I think that to make them work like that at 3 years is not a good thing. My Gunny I completely broken and doesn’t want to work any more in reining

Over 12 million in earnings worth - he is totally dominant as a sire and sire of sires...guess being deaf is an advantage for reining performance horses -- probably wouldn't be out in the wild but in this modern world doesn't appear to be much of a disadvantage.

It's not Gunner that "created" it. Many paints with the splashed white pattern are deaf.
