Honestly, you’re telling me he couldn’t have called or send an update to the club saying he’ll be late. That’s basic professionalism. Also this wasn’t the first time he had done something like this…that was Arteta’s main issue that it was a pattern.

But Auba, even now aint saying why Mikky was upset, just repeati g what boss said. He needs to come to that n explain he let the whole club down at that moment, even tho i understand.

I believe when MA came in as manager - everyone including Auba’ Ozil and Laca’ etc were all given an open slate. But Auba should lead by example - like Martin O’ is doing now. He really couldn’t have got into an arm wrestle with Arteta and win.

It sounds to me a case of the club made allowances for Auba before all this went down with his mum and he left himself no credit in the bank. If you're a player who is persistently late and the manager turns a blind eye, that leaves you nowhere to go if you have a genuine emergency. Had Auba been super disciplined up to that point and then he had this rare circumstance that he ends up coming back late, I don't think it would have been held against him.

I don’t remember which post it was where there was a troll constantly spamming “didnt win any trophies after removing Auba 🤣🍿”. So I guess I will just answer it here. Been watching Arsenal since the late 90s. I don’t know about others but as the old saying goes the club chooses you is something extremely true in my case. I didnt know who or what arsenal was, how many trophies they had. But I fell in love simply with the style of play. How they move around the ball. It was majestic and something I just profoundly enjoyed. While you always want your team to win trophies its important atleast for me that your team has an identity. A signature way of playing football. During the final years of wenger, Unai era and first two season of Arteta I couldn’t see no team identity. We didnt have any defined way of playing. It was all over the place. Arteta gave use steady progress year upon year. We built on something and pushed forward little by little we slowly crept into UCL we challenged for the title twice back to back. Yes, we didnt win and to some extent we bottled it twice. But I am happy that as a club we have established our values and identity. I am proud of that. I am proud that we have an established way of playing football now. I am happy we scored goals from all over the place. Yes UTD has won the FA Cup and suddenly its a major trophy 🤣🤣🤣. But honestly I would much rather have a club that knows its identity, has a defined style of playing football and scores goals for fun as opposed to having a 0 or negative goal difference. To all the folks who have stuck around with Arteta and Arsenal last two seasons were the trailer. The movie hasn’t even started yet🎉🎉🎉.

This entire saga still doesn’t sit right with me. I love Arteta & rate him highly as a coach, but I think it would've been wiser to keep opinions under wraps & prepare to make arrangements in the summer. At most make the decision within the dressing room of stripping the captaincy. Auba's situation was overblown only to be used as cannon fodder to galvanize the rest of the team. Big Loss financially & Auba definitely could’ve helped off the bench

@@4rillymanilly i said that arteta could have done better. it's what being a manager is; handling players in such a manner as to get the best out of them. arteta didn't manage that situation well. he isolated the player (resource) as if he were bad for the team and then paid for him to go to barcelona, where he scored 14 league goals between february and may, helping them win la liga. what good manager would burn bridges with their best and most popular player, paying him to help another team win the league? it was a flex by arteta and he's lucky he didn't get the sack. aubameyang was very expensive and arteta, essentially, threw him in the trash.

We all have our personal problems. However, we must ensure that our personal problems remain majorly personal to us; that they do not expand into our organisation as much as is reasonably possible. So we need to seek solutions to our problems within the institutionalised humanitarian provisions of, or privileges provided by, the organisation. No organisation would like to collapse under the weight of the personal problems of any of its employees, not even the CEO. What happened was unfortunate, but I think Arteta wanted to prevent the club from going down. If it did, not only Aubamayang would have gone down with it, Arteta would also have been a victim.

We discerning fans are not fooled by the speaker's accent. That is deliberate deception and another of those dirty tricks which is continuing to set up the one against the other. We don't want to hear anything from Auba. He is trying to court sympathy two years later, because he made a statement on the record against our manager which is permanent damage. That is what Auba should have addressed: How he perceived our coach in such a condescending manner. Our coach was right and has since been proven right. For Auba, van Persie and Adebayor there is just no way back. A little crack for Alex's. No one is bigger than the Club. By the way, by saying Auba won the FA Cup that is another deception. He SCORED. He did not win any Cup. ARSENAL WON THE FA CUP.

@@RogerEriksen-l6h I think Arteta has gone too far with this. He could bench Auba for a match or two. Then, sell him at the end of the season. I am not denying Auba's fault in this. But, Arteta could handle this in a civil manner. Also, when anyone’s parents are ill, you have to be a bit understanding. One and half years ago my father had a stroke. I was with him for almost 24 hrs for 16 days. I couldn’t care less if I would get fired from work or not. The stress is unbearable.

@@racecarjonny8460 hope you know it wasn't his first. The coach mentioned he had a list of his deeds because he knew a day would come.. Also don't forget arteta begged for him to stay and offered him huge wages... So if the same coach decides to bin you, then there is definitely a good reason for that

@@olorunetokolapo Yes, Auba always had disciplinary issues. As I said before, this could be handled in a civil manner. Bench him and sell him at the end of the season. But, I think Arteta wanted to make a point to others. It was a message to others. If he can take Auba out of the team, no one is safe.

Arteta let him go see his mother - but it was the sloppy attitude when coming back was the problem - including not even bothering to let him know in advance. It was a lack of respect. Auba trying to say it was about his mum - it was not - it was Auba attitude - and it wasn’t the first time either. Not fooled.

If his mother is ill and he asks for more time to take care of her. That's a formidable reason. But being late to return is another thing, don't mix it up. He should have common sense. He's a captain and must lead by example.

Quit pretending like this pos has only done this at Arsenal with arteta, he’s forced moves everywhere… he was one of a few veterans on a young team with some stars coming up. At a huge club. He put the name on the back of the shirt first. Not the patch up front. He vacationed all the time, he left whenever he wanted. He showed up late, he was late to practice because he had to get his cute little hair cut.
