I remember Izzy when he was a kid in Lafayette, Indiana. He and Axl used to skateboard at the Levee Plaza skatepark. The bottom of his board said " Gonzo" . Axl would call him " Gonzo" . He wasn't too shabby of a skater. He was quiet , not like Axl, who was pretty extroverted.

Famous people don't fall from the sky and they were not born famous. They had Friends class mates played in bands with people played sports with people ETC. Which means they are people who exist who knew famous people before they were famous . Izzy still hangs out with people he went to school with. My Older sister Donna Ullery, pronounced all ler ree, used to trip Axel back in high school all the time and sing the Bill Bailey song to him. she was in his choir class. another true story for you. if anyone knows Axel, then ask him about it. His uncle also used to work at the west Lafayette Indiana Wal-Mart. he's the guy who taught Axel how to play the piano. a very nice guy with no ego. he told me that he missed seeing him. Tell Axel that too if you know him. I'm sure that man is most likely passed away by now. but I'm sure that would mean a lot to him to know that. Peace..

I spoke to Izzy Stralin directly the very night he left Chicago and quit Guns. They were just about to go to Japan to record their DVD. He told me that after getting this close to home, he decided to quit and just come home. he didn't even tell anyone yet. I was the very first person to hear it from him. It was me and a friend of mine Jon Muncie. we were out side the village pantry on 9th street. in Lafayette Indiana. He had told me that the band was soon to be broke up anyway, and Japan may very well be their last show. he said, well we have a few gigs over sea's, but I'm not sure if what's going to happen. That's a true story, no bull shit. if anyone knows Izzy, then ask him about it. he was waiting for the train to pass, as we stood there talking. he was riding his Harley Davidson Softail. I begged him not to quit. I said at least go to record the DVD. he said, they will be fine without him. he had already told them that he was going to quit after they went to Japan to record the DVD. but he said, after getting this close to home. I just decided to quit tonight a few hours ago and come back home.

Too bad izzy left the band in August of 1991 and his last show was at Wembly in England. He also told Alan niven their manager he was leaving the band before the wembley show and was not even going to show up for the Wembly show but Alan Niven talked him into playing. G N R was on tour in Europe when when Izzy decided to leave the band . Chicago had nothing to do with it and he told their manager he was leaving.. Izzy quit the band 6 moths before the Japan. They myth that has been pushed over the years is that Izzy quit at the very last Minute and waited right before they they were set to tour Japan and he did not give them enough notice. They knew in August he was leaving and waited until the last minute to find a replacement because they thought they could convince him to stay. Your story is Bullshit.
