The song was inspired by a short story called 'Without You', written by Axl Rose's friend, Del James. It's the story of a rock start who lost his girlfriend when she used a gun to un@live herself because he repeatedly cheated on her. If you go back to the scene of the casket in the church, you can see they used a mirror to hide the injuries to her face/head.

Led Zeppelin builds up their intros, he tried copying lead singer of Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant, but Axl Rose doesn’t even come close to being as great a vocalist as Plant. They have had fans for over 50 years. A reunion concert in (2007) they had requests for 20 MILLION tickets within 2 hours, unfortunately there were only 20 THOUSAND seats, so there was a ticket lottery to make it fair to fans.

Respectfully disagree. Plant and Zeppelin were great, no doubt, but in their primes, Axl had more range. Although, Plant was able to keep his voice sounding great for a long time, while Axl’s degraded pretty quickly and started sounding horrible after about 12- 15 years or so.

@ Plant had more range tone & texture, & used his vocals perfect for each song. He still sounded amazing, after 2 surgeries on his vocal cords.

@@sicotshit7068 Not at their primes. It's been shown that Axl had more range. Tone and texture are subjective. You prefer Plant's delivery, which was great. I prefer Axl's tone and texture. I just think his voice was grittier in a more edgy kind of way. Admittedly, I am a bit biased as your are to Zeppelin. I liked Led Zeppelin, but didn't really love them. I can certainly appreciate the talent, but also know that they pretty much stole a lot of their music from black American artists and didn't fess up until they were called out on it.

@@sicotshit7068 I've heard pretty much everything of theirs to the point where it got played out for me. Plant had a 3.5 octave voice, Rose had a 6 octave voice where he could go both lower and higher than Plant. That is objectively true. The rest is subjective. Rose was certainly influenced by Plant. So have probably hundreds of other bands, but to say he copied him is not a fair representation. Plant wasn't the first artist to sing in that type of voice nor will he be the last. Just as Axl was influenced by Plant, Plant was influenced by others. The fact that Zeppelin literally plagiarized black American blues artists is well documented. Axl may have covered other artists' music, but never plagiarized.
