I saw them in Pittsburgh last month. This concert is in my top five best concerts I've attended. They sounded amazing, I was 25 feet from stage and the tickets were only $85 and they performed for 3 hours. Loved every minute of it!

Given Axl's age now, his singing is not THAT bad. Getting older sucks. Trust me. Nothing works the way it used to...including vocal cords.

I don't think it's his age because singers like Steven Tyler could still sing amazingly as he got older (until recently when he retired). It's more like how he sang with that raspy scream for decades that destroyed his vocal cords.

Online recordings are poor quality, for the most part. Attending GnR concerts (choosing a good venue & having really good tickets really adds to the experience, too) is the only way to really hear how awesome Axl still is :)

I thank all the commenters who claim that Axl sounds OK here. He sounds exactly like me singing out loud after I drink a few beers from 32 oz glasses. I always thought that I sounded really bad and that has been a source of pain for me :) Now I am relieved.

He ain't bald I've seen him in interviews without his hat pulled back into a ponytail. He said in an interview that he was nervous before going on stage that's why he wears sunglasses and a hat. It makes him feel less nervous.
