It’s an absolute shame that Scott was a mess for the majority of the time Velvet Revolver was together. When Scott was straight, he was a very polite and pleasant human being to be around. But when he was wasted he pretty much lost all his morals, even he said that.
@le_th_4 ай бұрын
He was a gentleman when I was out with him and the guys one night. He was never once inappropriate, he didn't try to touch me in any sexual way, the closest thing he did to asking me to touch him was asking me to feel his hair (because I touched his roadie's long hair and said it was soft and he wanted me to feel his soft hair lol). He was clearly attracted to me, but was respectful and polite. I think the only time he really touched me is when I sat in front of him between his legs as we went down the slide at Club USA in NYC. This was NYC September 16 1993, and we'd flown from LA to NY for the band to do SNL that week. We were up all night at the Paramount Hotel, but I noticed Scott dipped out for a while, and I think he went and did some coke by himself. I didn't use drugs of any kind. I guess I'm lucky I never saw him really wasted. I might have had a very different opinion of him.

They were impressed by his vocal abilities but he didn't really have the "look" as he had shaved his head around that time. He said it was a fun experience but that he was an artist and they were "actors". He wasn't into the whole rockstar thing. Ultimately it went to Weiland which I think was a good choice. I'm thankful for Velvet Revolver. I really enjoyed some of their music no doubt. They helped usher in a short era of super groups along with Audioslave. We also got Army of Anyone(Filter+STP) and Chicken Foot(Sammy Hagar, Chad Smith, Michael Anothony). I think it also sparked other artists in the music industry to branch out: like the guitarist from A Perfect Circle(Billy Howerdel) to create Ashes Divide; and members of both metal bands, Fear Factory and Threat Signal, to create the band Arkaea. While Supergroups weren't a new concept(Temple of the Dog springs to mind, and of course music history has plenty of others), there's no denying the rippling effect that Velvet Revolver and Audioslave had at the time.

Velvet Revolver was overhyped because three members were in GN’R, but blew over quick. The public caught on to that too. The first album did well, but the second bombed, and they broke up right after. Side note: They were an ‘all star’ band, not a ‘supergroup’. The term ‘supergroup’ got used too much in those days. An all-star band has famous members of other bands. A supergroup is a large scale band that has sold albums in the high millions and can fill stadiums globally.

Scott just seemed like a pouty, whining bitch; seemed like he was mad because he had to go through the same process as everybody else. Slash playing an ES-335, excellent!

Hoobastank was awful. They made awful music. Velvet Revelover released two very good albums. Scott Weiland was a mess... but damn if he isn't rhe best live peformer I have ever seen. Wish Scott could have gotten well. Wish he was spending time with his family and still making music. I just wish he was still with us.

Velvet Revolver were like Audioslave. A Pretty underwhelming supergroup.

VR was like most other rock bands of the time. Lotta filler. A few bangers. A little Slash goes a long way. That being said, the solo on She Builds Quick Machines? *chef's kiss*

I must be hearing things. I think I just heard Nikki Sixx get "holier than thou" about ripping off another bands songs. 😂😂😂

Scott was a horrible Dad, so I have no respect for him at all.

First album was better than all but two of Guns albums. Fact. And Guns are my favourite band.
