They were arguably the best RnR band in the world from 1991-97. Internal conflict - mostly via Chris Robinson - destroyed the band and a lot of their legacy imo. You might consider doing a video on how they had to scrap the original follow up album to Southern Harmony before eventually putting out Amorica. Was tentatively titled “Band”.

Props to Chris for scoring Kate Hudson for however long that lasted. I almost said “Kate Hudson in her prime” but I think she’s in her prime NOW 😉

The singer in my band once saw the Crows as a fan in a large San Diego club. Our singer was maybe 20 or so, just a kid with a dream and he placed a CD of his band on the wedge in front of Chris, with a note that basicly just said, thanks for being such an inspiration. That's a pretty dick and sleazy move your singer did. Basically pitching his music which is really uncool. If it was just a note he wouldnt have reacted maybe that way- but the sleazy way to pitch your music circumventing conventional channels, cutting others = sorry I cant respect that. Its cheap, disrespectful and basically makes the message sound insincere and more like a manipulative move to get chris to listen to the music. I would have done the same in his place and maybe even invited your singer in front of everyone to tell everyone what he did and shamed him in front of everyone so he would learn a lesson how not manipulate people into listening his music.

After their big "run," they came to Jacksonville, Fl. They played at a whiskey bar in a WHISKY TOWN. You know ..... Lynyrd Skynyrd? They started at 9:35 pm and were off the stage, in their bus, and GONE by 10:30. I never thought they were that good to start. So, i didn't buy a ticket. I just rode my bike around in the parking lot. When I saw them leaving before most people had gotten their 2nd drink.... I was thinking, "Woooo." Then the crowd came out. Bottles were being broken in the parking lot. Cuss words flying. I knew they burn their fans that night. This was probably 1998. I was surprised Page hooked up with Chris.

The Black Crowes were in San Diego a number of years ago, and I saw Chris Robinson walking down the street with a couple of guys. About the 5th song, their infantile lead singer stopped the show, had a hissy fit and refused to go on till someone with a laser light was removed. I went back to sleep after that. I like the Crowes they are always good live and I have seen them numerous times. They were very young though when Shake Your Money Maker hit big and did a lot of stupid things and were overly idealistic with some of their anti-corporate stuff they did. In the present day though the Robinson Brothers are as greedy as they come and basically kicked Steve Gorman out for the reunion tour because that would be one extra additional original member to have to share the profits with and they didn't think it was worth it since he was just the "drummer". I could see Chris Robinson get annoying to deal with after awhile touring with them. He seems to have very strong and loud opinions on everything and always did a lot of drugs and booze so I see how the two combined could get annoying to deal with after awhile on tour.

He cut the show short when they were paid to play at Riverbend in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He seemed pissed of the whole set. We all cheered for them to come back out since the show was soo short but they never did. I love the Black Crowes and I hate to hear bad stories about Chris but facts are facts. I saw ZZ Top at Riverbend and they played a 2 hour set! Billy and Dusty would chat with the audience between songs, tell us how much he appreciates us, how much he loves Chattanooga, shared stories, and even told us he wanted to throw a party/show at the top of the incline and everybody's invited lol. Billy was Jimi's favorite for a reason.. ZZ Top has more of a right to be pompous than The Black Crowes as they are multiple times the legends. Yet, they were one of the kindest, coolest, down to earth bands I've still ever seen play. Kid Rock even played Riverbend at the pinnacle of his career and was thrilled to play for us (honestly put on the best live show I've ever been to and I wasn't a huge fan). So it definitely says something about how Chris views himself for him to be the "diva" amongst legends who've achieved far more than he has. That being said I still don't dislike the guy and I still love The Black Crowes music.
