thanks, mine was almost impossible to take the plastic part off
@yrsued2 жыл бұрын
What happens is that the two set screws damage the plastic insert and it gets wedged in the slot, you have to be very careful to remove this part!!

I’m having the same issue. How can I remove the plate? I removed both set screws and it’s still wedged in there.

This little bit of steel is like 40% of the reason I got a DPP, you have a wide margin of error in buying a front sight on pistols because you can just adjust the elevation until its perfectly aligned. it's also windage adjustable, which although you probably won't need it, is pretty helpful. The best part is that you can have your slide milled all the way down to the bottom of the factory sight dovetail, bringing the whole package farther back and lower.

Do that have anything like this for pistol optics? The canik tp9 loses it rear iron sight for the optic but I want to keep it
@yrsued2 жыл бұрын
There are pistols out there that will accept this footprint. I don't know if the Canik will accept the Deltapoint Footprint though. I wish I did, but I don't.

Looks like an afterthought
@yrsued Жыл бұрын
I get what you're trying to say, but, if it was an afterthought, why have the Dovetail on the sight to install the Iron Sight on it?? IT was designed that way, but remember, the Deltapoint and the Deltapoint Pro were just about the first Red Dots that were mounted directly on firearms, they were just about the first Micro Red Dots out there. Technology has changed so much since these came out.

For the amount of money that is cost you'd think it would have dots on it. Not all black making it more difficult to line up your shot.
@yrsued2 жыл бұрын
That is a matter of taste there. Personally, if you look at my other Videos, I prefer Black Rear Sights. I have gone to the extent of taking a Sharpie and Blackening out the Rear Dots on several Pistols to get the Black Rear I have trained with at Gunsite.

All black rear/small fiber optic front is optimal for distance shooting 25 yards +
@meschker0507 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. I own this for my G45 and I love it. Even before I had a dot, I always preferred a glowing front sight with blacked out rear. All your vision is directed to the front sight, which is where you should be looking anyhow.

I have the DPP mounted on my Walther PDP. Considering this as part of a ⅓ co-witness setup but you must change out the front sight also. The question is too what? How tall should it be?
@yrsued Жыл бұрын
This is one of the mysteries of co witness, it all trial and error. I’m sorry to say that I’m not familiar with any of the modern Walther firearms.

You kind of have to just know somebody who had the exact same milling done. My machinist told me for glocks a dawson .415" is ideal, but only with his specific millwork. If you're into gunsmithing you could get a massive .500" sight blade and just file it down with a ceramic/diamond file until its perfect and then black oxide finish it. Doesn't take the long to file .06-.08"
