Nice to see a lefty using a “right handed” bolt gun correctly.

Does the Compass ll accept extended mags like Rugers ? TIA
@BrassBashers4 жыл бұрын
My dad got one for just over $200, may have just been the compass 1 though. Seems okay and he said it's accurate enough, but about 2 months after getting it the barrel had rust on it. This seemed strange after only leaving it in his truck for a week or two. We take our rifles into swamps and will hunt deer even if it's lightly raining, but he didn't even do that. So while I was going to get one I decided against it. We put our guns through some harsh conditions sometimes and if one rusts that easily then I don't want it.

Price of going cheap.
@BrassBashers4 жыл бұрын
@@dearbulls yeah I just can't deal with it lol. We had to maintain guns with blueing on them growing up, and it was a pain at times. With today's coatings I shouldn't have to do much to keep a gun from rusting (in normal conditions)
@TheRossillini4 жыл бұрын
Even savage will do it man the blueing now days isn’t what it use to be
@BrassBashers4 жыл бұрын
@@TheRossillini that's the point, it's 2020. I don't want blueing, I want a coating that won't rust or corrode the steel underneath.

My compass got 5 stress bumps on the muzzle following the rifling which shows the barrel metal has not been properly relieving the stress. I'm not feeling confident in using it anymore. This time it is the case of "you get what you paid for".

I got the full insurance when I bought it at sportsmans warehouse

Thompson Center (Smith and Wesson) has a lifetime service policy on their guns. No need to stress, they will take care of it at their expense, no need to buy any type of warranty. The compass is a good gun, but obviously manufacturing defects can happen.

Can you used 7.62x51 ammo on 308 t/c compass ?? Thank you
@anthonymartin68313 жыл бұрын
Ja
@weaglefishing193 жыл бұрын
You can generally use 7.62 in 308 but they don't advise the opposite unless you know the chamber is rated for it. 7.62 is less pressure than 308

Seriously? Crisp trigger on the Venture II? Mine has a terrible trigger. Creeps and I see no adjustment. Pull needs to also be lower.

Do you have the Compass or the Venture? Perhaps they both have the same trigger.

@@jimsheely5491 Well having a crappy trigger is a no-go in my book. My Ikon has a superb adjustable trigger. Too bad T/C seems to have gone away from it.
