I started mine 2 months ago with comb coils and I'm about to get them retwisted by my mom in a few minutes. She wasn't a fan of me getting dreads at all, but now she's accepting it and I save a bunch of money on retwists.

When I one day have the luxury to begin dreads, your vids will make the process so much simpler 😁
@9000Werewolf7 жыл бұрын
My hair is like 3inches long, I started with the Twisting and Gel process when it was around 2 inches. Was easy too, and pretty convient, just had Duck Clips on each Dread until my Hair was dry from the Gel, after like 2hrs later when my hair was dry. Just take out the clips and boom you have a starter lock. Didn't was my hair till 2 days later. Nothing special just water and some like massaging, after the wash, put the clips back on one more time so your hair does break up, once they dry once more, taking the clips off gave me nice dreads in the next day when they started to lock on their own after that, I'm niw just gonna let my hair grow and take care of the new growth every 3 months. Main this is be careful how you sleep, I usually sleep with a Beanie on now, keeps your hair from being disturbed during sleep in the beginning stages.

I know it won’t completely dread so Ima lock em up completely soon probably after another month. (Btw if you all didn’t know, it takes a month or 2 for your hair to start dreading) I’ve been taking these in and out for 3-4 months now, last time they started dreading and got scared lol but now I’m committed

How did you get through rude comments about starting dreads ? Cause a year ago I grew out my man bun out yo where it was shoulder length , and I dreaded it and I guess I didn’t understand the process it has to go through for it to form into a dread and I would get messed up rude comments from people and co workers . I would get embarrassed as if I done it wrong , but I didn’t do it wrong honestly I did what you explained was crochehooking it and palming it . I shaved my head due to their constant harassment and I had a friend who had dreads for years and told me I was doing it right and why did I shave my head and I felt sooooo dumb afterward 😔 oh well I grew out my hair again and looking forward to doing dreads again. Thank you for this video man I just wanted to know how did you get through the stages of dreading with or without rude comments about it .
@Oroorel6 жыл бұрын
Shouldn't let people get to you. People say what they want to say; Its your job to not let those things throw you off your goal(s). I've been twisting my hair for around 1 a month and a half now and even thoug though it looks silly, I still know it'll look good soon. Just a matter of being patient!
@Kysah_VDP6 жыл бұрын
if they told you you did it wrong most cases they dont know about dreads at all cause everyone knows if you see hair theat its bunched up but looks bad its the case of have them put in recently and that it takes time to mature and in my image i see dreads something to experience to show the people you put into it cause its a different way and a creative feeling you get when you do new things

I have strait non curly white people hair and I started with doing freeform, and that worked for the most part except on my bangs (not to mention when I started my hair was down to my shoulders) but after about 2 months I decided to to just back comb it and gel it and it worked fine, it definitely does look like caveman hair and most of the dreads are not cylindrical but it works...

Lmao I'm dying at the Howcast woman. Her videos suuuuuuuuuck. Please tell me you guys have seen her 😂 Edit: braidlocs (as well as interlocking) are perfect for people who sweat a lot/work out. I actually started with twists. But they came undone at the root and the last back row of my head has really, really fine hair and came undone completely. So I had to braid it to keep my hair in place. (It's damn near straight too. Pretty sure it's the fine baby hair that never got coarse)
@JB_Sejour7 жыл бұрын
Poppy Shakoor Howcast in general sucks because they try to be a jack of all trades and they suck at all of them.

Fightology Look up a PROPER interlocking video then watch the howcast videos. The people are so hot and bothered in the comments 😂She interlocks soooo wrong. But. I will say I would recommend her crappy method if you wanted to split a dreadlock with cutting it. Safer way.
