As promised, I just uploaded a short showing the pond this morning! You can check it out here: kzbin.infogVPq_BHOVqg?feature=share Thank you so much everyone for your lovely comments, I have been reading them all :) I'm going to jump on and start replying later on, but I've got to get some stuff done today first! I appreciate every comment you leave so much

As far as the hose is concerned…here in Queensland there’s usually 2 stepped adapters…that’s missing the first adapter.
@lancejohnston368810 ай бұрын
You shouldn’t have to lift the tank full of water…that’s dangerous…get a length of airline and attach a small piece of styrofoam to one end and float it inside the upturned tank then suck out the air with your mouth…use a more stable tank stand too like cement blocks.

With the cyanobacteria in the Tangyanikan tank you can pretty much syphon it off the sand as it will form almost like a slick on the surface it can pretty much be peeled off. You could also black out that tank for a week or so which should kill it off, use bin bags on the glass and keep the lights off.

Girl, your grapple with that "high-rise"…and then explaining your struggle a few moments later - sopping wet - was a total mood and exquisite comedy timing. Summed up my entire life! I LOL'd so hard. 🤣Thank you for the endeavours - the struggle is REAL. Subbed.

I'd love a store tour. I really like how you give things a go and try different fish. It'll rub off and give me more confidence. :)

If you have a siphon hose that has a squeeze pump, you can use that to suck the air out of the highrise tank in the pond. Go ahead and place the tank first then stick the hose pointed toward the top of the highrise. Then pump away the air to displace with water

Hey! Professional and hobbyist aquarist here, treatment for cyanobacteria is about 20 USD per 300 gallons that would be the Boyd enterprises chemi clean and damn you got a lotta high end lights over tanks with no need for them!

On the hose you need a thread adapter, to fill high rise with water just use a tube to suck out the air while it's upside down

Rice fish would be great in there!! They show so good in little ponds like this!!
@BH36910 ай бұрын
you can add some Japanese medaka rice fish in your pond they are very hardy fish ❤,white cloud mountain minnows are great for ponds too.

2:07 it screws on, turn it to the right and it will screw back on. the hose will unclip after you screw it on if you hold the dimples and pull down. hope this helps

Absolutely love this pond. Well done!

I think air is getting into the high rise when the water level drops near the bottom of the rim. You'll have to keep on top of water top ups though evaporation.
@MakoyUnggoy10 ай бұрын
The hose just screws on instead of pushes doesn't it?....There's a thread on the tap and also the end of the hose
@zlamanit10 ай бұрын
Yes, it’s likely a quick connector that needs to be screwed on once and then you can just pull/push to operate it.

Hi Kaitly , i love the pond & i reckon the glass tower is a keeper ... also i appreciate the reality of your fish keeping 🤗🤗

Rice fish may be a good idea for the tower. They can tolerate a wide range of temperatures both hot and cold. Great content as always, Kaity.

The easiest way to get the high-rise tank set up is to get yourself a wet and dry vac and just suck the air out of the tank while it's on the stand that way as well you can add more water if needed + there great for any water spills
@benjamindebellis666410 ай бұрын
JMO but I think as the water level lowers due to evaporation, it will eventually drain your high-rise to compensate for the lower water level in the main pond. Once the water level in the pond is lower than the bottom of your high rise the air will be able to enter your high-rise. You wouldneed to add top off water as water evaporates or setup an auto-top-off to your pond. I use a really in expensive top-off on my marine tank. AWESOME pond!!

One trick is to add water to the level you want it, then add the volume of the tank and pull iot out again putting the tank on the stand
@Sydthesloth4510 ай бұрын
Yes definitely worth putting back
@ejsampana42610 ай бұрын
Gorgeous as always... btw you can put the hose directly inside the high-rise to fill it with water
@corrugatedmetal659810 ай бұрын
with regards to the high-rise: 1. i don't think it looks bad at all with a bit of air at the top. maybe you could put a floating plant up into it? 2. i think stabilizing the stand you set it on could make it a lot easier to lift the high-rise full of water up onto it, since you wouldn't have to risk tipping the stand over. 3. also, someone mentioned using a hose to siphon the air out of the top of the high-rise. that could make the process a bit easier for you. i don't have any experience with a tank high-rise, just hate seeing you struggle! it's a very cool idea though, so i'm sure you will be able to figure out a way to make it work for you. ❤
@ChrisWijtmans10 ай бұрын
hi, like in last video i mentioned that air will get in there. Water contains air and other gasses and they will build up in the top. The quick disconnect adapter is screwed on the tap i think its stuck in your hose?
@markzig142910 ай бұрын
Hi Katie, I have a suggestion. What if you used a bowl instead of the box? I think a round bowl may work better with the round pond. And perhaps it could sit down into the stand a little better, bringing the bowl lower into the pond, below the water level, so you would have less trouble with the evaporation.
@davidadkins880510 ай бұрын
Maybe the plants that are within it were slowing producing oxygen into the box therefore displacing water.

2:02 this must be a tricky question because both the tap and hose end have a thread visible. But it cannot be that simple.
@brianjones128210 ай бұрын
Alright Miss Kaity, I think we need to discuss some things. Are you sure it's just a phase? You might be in denial. Be careful or your Lake Malawi fish might revolt. They might just up and leave, except the inconvenient fact you know, they're in a tank. 😛 You made a point that I was going to suggest. I think you might ought to have a shorter stand for your high rise tank. That way if the water level in the pond goes down a little, air won't get in it. It would probably be easier to get on the stand too. I would enjoy a tour of the Matt's store. That looked like a beautiful store. I just setup a fishy tank after a long while, so I got into watching videos and so forth again. I found your channel and have been enjoying your videos. I like that your videos are all not the same thing over and over again. I also enjoy your laid back, sweet personality. You are like a breath of fresh air. 🙂

Instead of lifting the high rise while its 100% full..... Place it where you need it and use a short hose to suck the air out. Water will fill it as the air is sucked out.
