you should be aware of the movement rather then the direction of it . if you think about clockwise you will be stuck in one direction of movement .only way is not to think about it . just look at your fingers move where u want them to

@mrmartinmartin It means U R able to unify two thoughts into one. You cannot have two thoughs at the same time, but you 'can' coordinate two opposite movements if you think of the two movements as a single physical action. Musicians are quite good at this. Is a question of using the appropriate center, as G called them. In this case, the moving center is appropriate, not intellectual or thinking.

Fascinating, your right you can't do it with thought but in a meditative state it can be done. As a matter of fact the contrast doing this experiment between thought activity and activity with out thought was significant.

This is not a confirmatory test for stop thinking. Maybe one needs more attention for the first time, but later one can do it while watching TV.

In Africa folks routinely play two or MORE DIFFERENT CONFLICTING rhythms on the same instrument. Would that count as the same thing???

My point being it that each of the Points has more that one frequency, not that I am an expert physicist, but the Enneagram of personality has been my primary vessel for building an understanding of the nature of the fluxing persona or energy of the Human condition.

So the meditation of moving the thumbs in two counter directions is an example of the impossible object. One must reconcile and find the space to may the action coherent.

As for the operations of the six Points 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, and the stacks or instinctive drives they are a further trap but can be the key to reconciliation. Example: Sp/so utilises Point Nine, in a way Type Nine can not with out reaching reconciliation.

Perhaps impossible to do with thought alone. Try one finger until the movement is in moving center (becomes somewhat automatic, like driving a car). Once one finger is able to move clockwise by itself begin to move the other finger in a clockwise direction ensuring the first finger continues on it’s path - divide your attention.

It reminds me of, the Gurdjieff Sacred Dance - Movement 11 the girl twilling to her own single movement is to me, the Ego, as one unit, independent of the other 17 and separate as the 18 if you get my drift of thought as an impression of what the work is about. Notes her glory or pride her skirt pleats in three as she teals she creates one triangle of her own independent making and under her own control. The sorrow of separation seems to me to be the melody of the musics rhythm.

If you think as a circle between both fingers and focus your attention on the north and south pole of the circle and rotate from your elbows while splitting your attention only observing the movements then it can be done, we'll I just did it on my third try with in seconds. The body has two 1/2 and a seem down the middle,

In a sense so has the Enneagram, it is my belief that the enneagram has two sides and not nine Points but 18 Points and not one triangle but three triangles Two triangles of the instinct ( 7 4 1 ) & ( 2 5 8 ) and ( 3 6 9 ) of the traditional enneagram.

But I must shear that my model of 18 Point has a Centre Point, that I relate to Part C. My own line of thought as an independent thinker, I have come to a realisation that there are as I believe 18 point, an other nine points on the circle of the Enneagram as if in one way there were two sides to the Enneagram a side A and side B and at the same time an hidden or not easily visible, a point, between each of the nine points.

i dont see what consciousness has to do with learning a simple movement, as difficult as it may seem at first. u still must think about each step of the new movement, or what ever new it is u are learning. once musclememory takes over, thought process is out of the picture. but can u say that consciousness was necessary? no, u just had to pay attention and do it slow. so what does this even have to do with thinking 2 thoughts at the same time?? that is a diferent process alltogether.

I find little difficulty moving the index ffingers clockwise (one one way one another). Yes Im a musician and have little problem with these types of exercises but more I am keenly in touch with the feelings of thoughts and feel what the the movements mean and the doors the movements open. Firstly its best to teach people with positives not, that they cant do something. Secondly, we can have multidimentional thoughts all at once and do all the time.

Try patting yourself on the head with one hand and rubbing your belly clockwise (or counterclockwise) with the other. It takes a few moments for the thinking brain to realise what needs to be done and then teach the moving brain how to do it. That is not very difficult. What I find fascinating is that Gurdjieff said it was possible to divide attention in such a way that one could have sensation in one finger, have an emotion in another, and count taps with a third. Now that is some excercise in dividing attention! And, he also said, if you do not learn what it means, you will remain a candidate for a mad house.

This is funny...20 years ago i did the same. Although i learned nothing, it's nice to show it to others. I gues this is the secret of everything difficult. You learn it and feel special, just for a moment. After that comes a guestion; now what else? Try to make the same movements with the rest of your body.

This forums a triangle, 18 triangles, ( nine side A and nine side B ) connecting to one Point C. So the personality has left the reconciliation of the three triangles and opted for the creative; Kinda like the self being drawn to the attraction of forming an ego lense, and shifting attention from essence to creation; drawn to the multiplicity of the one triangle and getting stuck in a faze of cause and effect, mind the mechanical intelligence, of mind / egos mind.

Sorry, but I had 8 beers and half a bottle of wine, and I can do this fairly easily. It's not that hard to produce a slightly more complex thought that involves both hands rotating in an inverse direction from each other. Still, I think I know what you're trying to get at. Not sure that this exercise is really the means to that end. I think successfully playing chess while drunk, or staying self-aware during orgasm, are better means of practicing permanent self-consciousness. The Left-hand path.
@Dem212
@Dem212 13 жыл бұрын
It's not this so called "consciousness" that you seem to be attributing this to. It is a matter of not concentrating on one or the other, and allowing your muscle memory to do it. Which is actually more unconscious.

The self is trapped, the six instincts can not honour the two shocks and the six sets of three are not working as one. side A & side B. Personality has replaced the centre and two circles work not in unison. The most Holy Sun Absolute is silent with in the Universe of the individual.

I managed this just now for the first time in my life. Quite easy! Where's the problem? It's much more easy to make people believe in stupid tricks as spiritual elevation, than make them really elevate. Your problem is probably just that you usally don't use enough your hands, like most of occidental people now. Then, when you at last achieve that poor circus trick, in fact you don't spiritually increase your beeing, you just make your body remember part of it's proper functions. Not so bad...

u are kinda contradicting your own video now. in the video u say consciousness can have 2 thoughts at the same time. now u say its not possible? according to Gurdjieff it is possible for a man to do 3 things at the same time...one with each of the centers. perhaps u didnt understand that part of his teaching very well, and thats what has made u confused.
