Welcome to a new episode of Fish Tales! I am preparing a fish fillet ‘en papillote’. En papillote is a method where the fish is wrapped in a paper package and placed in the oven. This way all the delicate flavours of the fish are preserved.
If you want to prepare fish in a healthy, quick, easy, affordable and incredibly tasteful way, this is the recipe you are looking for.
I am using gurnard, but you could use almost any other type of fish for this preparation.
I advise you to open the package on the table so your guests can enjoy all the beautiful fragrances that are coming out. See you on another fishy Friday!

Bart is the god of fishes. Every Friday I wish that I was living somewhere else where I can find fresh fish easily. Fresh fish I can find in Germany is not that fresh actually and plus it is expensive.

That looks nice and straight forward, certainly have to give that recipe a go, doesn't look like that gurnard will be winning any beauty contests. Thank you for the tips on knife sharpening, now have a decent cutting edge on my knife, still need to invest in a new steel though.

I do this all the time. You can also put some green pesto on top, and add some white wine. It always comes out flaky and delicious.

Looks fabulous Bart! I'm going to try it with Cobia or Ocean Perch; there isn't any Gurnard where I live.

Fish is So easy and simple. if i had no stock could i use a little dry white wine instead ?

Ik heb dit recept gemaakt met roodbaars. Ging perfect! En helemaal niet ingewikkeld. Heb alleen een eetlepel witte wijn gebruikt, ipv visboulion, want dat had ik niet.
