Rice take a very very long time to cook in sweet water. Usually people boil the rice first and then add sweet syrup of sugar or gur. Actually I tried cooking gur chawal like you have shown many years ago before youtube, and I could not get the rice to puff up and soften, I had to call my mom for advice. BTW your channel is great and I have tried many of your other recipes with success.
