Simple summary in English: // POEM ---Abhi Subedi, Nepali poet "Storm" represents a rebel while "Soft" refers to the state of zero/no violence So, basically, soft storm refers to the act of rebelling against someone without harming them. The writer has presented the bad practices indirectly He has talked about poverty, unfairness, corruption, gender and cultural biasness and so on. Still, no one cares or does sth about it. This poem is written in free verse, which means that there's no rhyming in this poem. stanza 1: discusses the social disorders in the society seamless city--- means a problem-free city stanza 2: depicts the state of poverty in Nepal unwedded gardens of history: refers to the lawless and chaotic state of Nepal stanza 3: speaks about the painful situation of street kids in Nepal the writer claims to be against the unjust society stanza 4: speaks about the unfairness in life seeing people who can't even stand up for themselves due to biased compulsion stanza 5: shows his dissatisfaction because his words weren't listened to. stanza 6 and 7: depicts the degrading environment and harm the society has given not only to people but also to the surroundings. stanza 8: he asks for freedom, for himself as well as every other living being on the planet. This is how the poet has rebelled against the injustice of a society in a warm/mild approach.

i dont know how none of the summaries i read mentioned this but this poem seems to be describing the maoist insurgency and it is very obvious . the tumult of violence then the eerie moment of peace which is unpredictable ; the maoist rise at night so metaphorically they are the moon ; the poem talks about posters ; pamplets and politics which accurately describe the daily life during the maoist times ; the seamless city is more accurately depicted here as the lawless boundless city where the maoist are free to do whatever they want ; kidnapping people ; killing people ; it is a seamless place with no boundries ; the statement about the hungry children hold true here as well ; and the melee line makes more sense in this context since it was a violent time ;in this sense unwedded gardens would mean places that were pure before the maoist isurgency but during this time ; people bled and people times and the places now are soaked in blood ; the places now are surrounded by potruded rocks which are painful unlike before when the garden was sterile and unwedded ; the line regarding forlon child also makes a LOT of sense in this setting as many innoncent mothers and fathers were killed by maoist leaving behind orphans ! Also now the stanza about a man being beaten for no reason before his family in no sensible times fits perfectly as the maoists needed little to no reason to beat someone to death ; the lines about a beaten bruised man kissing the earth with his bloody lips and how this event is just another event under the moon in our neplaese history , it just shows how little the individual event is and in the future it will just be " The violent maoist phase"; i t will be nothing more than just an entry into the open museum of human times ; now the poet is indirectly talking to the maoists whre he says u gave us the storm but didnt wait to see its leela ; the maoist came and the maoist went ; it was the people that suffered ; it was the public who had to face the severity of the storm ; now the situation is different ; it has improved ; now the poet can enjoy moments of sun laughter ; the violent storms of maoists has calmed down ; the poet himself was not strong enough to revolt against it and change it so his storm is soft and can only rage over silent pages of his diary ; in these pages he writes about the forlon child ; how god's abode/ place aka temples aka nepal itself decayed during the time and how everything will be buried under history ;(human courtyards is an easy refrence to acutal deadbodies instead of just metaphorical references);this is already too long so i am going to wrap the last 2 stanzas quickly . If soft is what u saw ( if u thought the maoist time was not that bad or if u didnt fully experience how it felt during that time ); then the poet respects your innocence ; now the unseen ; unheard of and unspoken things happen today and everything till today have collectively created a frightnening gale ; but even today even in todays difficult time the poet wants to melt away ; even though today is not the perfect ending ; even though today people cant be totally carefree ; even though people are uneasy ; the poet has a feeling of spilling over beacuse he knows it is not as bad as it was and it will never be as bad as it was ;my soft storm dances in ripples of your uneasy lake
