As usual, when the programmer or programming team knows what they're doing on the Amiga, the end result is far superior to the Atari version. Great comparison. The Atari ST version looks slow in comparison.

The PC version is also not smooth.

@@ancalimonungol yep a short time in the early ninetees until hardware acceleration came was smooth 2d a rare treat. Also i have to disagree to the commentor, this is a good port for the st and "far superior" isnt the case in this case.

I have spent 100s hours listening music from First Samurai as Protracker's module. It is sad to listen this music from Atari ST. The Atari port was done as "24h" challenge...

Both versions do justice to the machine they're running on. The Amiga version uses a noticeably larger playfield, has much smoother scrolling and has better sound.
@off1k8 жыл бұрын
Besides the obvious audio difference, the only other real let down for the Atari ST version is the playfield size, Atari St version holds up pretty well compared to Amiga albiet a little slower.
@GuruMediator8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, surprised how small the playfield was on ST, graphics stack up well though. I imagine they could have improved frame rate with further optimisation., as it stands it's almost unplayable.

off1k too bad there is no blitter support or Ste audio support...tons of Ste purchasers with enhanced hardware that would more or less equal Amiga, yet support was mostly absent.

Ooohhh at last a comparison video :-D. ST stands well.

Such an amazing game...this will be Gotek worthy soon on both machines.

definitely Amiga

This is probably an accurate measure of the difference between the two systems for 2D action games. Amiga wins on sound, scrolling and screen size, but the ST one is still impressive.

Back then I thought that the game looked more than ok on ATARI ST and it still does. Of course on console, sorry Amiga, it looks and sounds better but gfx are really stylish on both systems. I didn't like the game that mich though as I tended to get lost within seconds and had no damn idea about what I was supposed to do.

Amiga sounds amazing.... Atari ST sounds like a Spectrum with a broken sound chip
@camulodunon4 жыл бұрын
It actually has a slightly better sound chip than the ZX Spectrum. Get your facts straight.

@@camulodunon Yamaha YM2149F is a licensed near clone of General Instrument AY-3-8910. no and yes, the atari sounds like a typical 8 bit soundchip playing, in this case a good tune and good soundeffects while the amigas composers just fed up big time making boring a techno bass drum destroying the warriors mystic.

you act like an absolute newbee, what one knows doesnt bother much, once known you rather rate the compositions and the compo is FAR BETTER on the st in thiis case, mega annoying techno music here that just kills the atmosphere. So cut your hair and get yourself a rave , idiot. EDIT: you want to hear were both is better? go to ik+ side by side
