I am full of gratitude as I see this 🙏. I came across brother Jina Kusala when he was Axel many years ago and even then as a lay person he also had a radiant, glowing and authentic aura. I felt he had some "special" qualities about him. As I only experienced pleasant interactions with him when he was a lay person, I did not know of his struggles . Even if this brother's mind goes through dark times may he also remember he has shown light also in many moments. May he feel the light and cooling of 'himself' more and more with each day. I am overjoyed to see this brother in the monks robes, as he is a truth teller. May the noble triple jewel bless 🪷🫶🏽

Great interview. Its terrible to be in your twenties, listening to him reminded me of my own struggles from tha time I am so glad I somehow emerged. He knows himself very well tho, more than I did and he has the merit to take refuge in the dharma, I didnt and wasted much of my life essentially, hes very lucky and I think he knows that, listening to him I feel a lot of pain and confusion (my own) and also glimpses of a clear path to liberation, both are very helpful. Very intense interview, great stuff! Great to see Bouha too, I gotta get back there before another goddamn lockdown or what have you, nuclear war or some kind of crap like that. Can't they see, we're trying to develop a dharma practice!

Just a brief remark, written in good faith: Theravada is not Hinayana; in fact, "hina" means "deficient", or even "despicable", not "small" as opposed to "maha" in "Mahayana". "Small" is "cula". Also, this mendicant seems to have embarked on an interesting, unusual (at least these days), and even perilous journey - may he be well!
@tantrichill1922 ай бұрын
In the Buddhist term, Theravada means the way of elders. Mahayana means Big Vehicle. Vajrayana is Tantrayana or Tantric Buddhism which is practiced in Himalayan region.

I often thougt it is easier to reach Jesus Christ through the environment and culture of eurasian landmass than withhout it. Why i mention this here is modern europe or at least part of it i have seen so far is not the europe I had expected to see , and i had similar feeling of not liking South Asia outside the himalayan region with exceptions here and there and I have a strong belief the reason for that is mixture of traditional eurasian and non eurasian people in both these places. Buddhism probably also runs in our culture more than I know about, I can see that from many angles but the important part of it is Buddhism around the himalayas is embodiment of that Eurasian spirit in South Asia which I missed and still miss.

37:15 What he describes sounds a lot like what the psychiatric world calls bipolar disorder.
@SchizopantheistАй бұрын
I don't think so. Issues to do with trauma are often misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder. Childhood trauma can explain all of the things he described. I am in much the same situation as him in this, though I am not a monk. Mindfulness can be very challenging and upsetting for those with traumatic childhoods or other forms of complex trauma. But if directed and focused rightly it can help lead to healing.

It strikes me as weird when I see Scandinavians become a Buddhist monk. I mean, what's wrong with Scandinavian culture that some Scandinavian find it necessary to learn other culture?

@karanvasudeva54242 ай бұрын
Doesn't imply that there's anything wrong with Scandinavian culture. Many people become interested in things from other cultures. If an Indian develops a taste for gelato, does that imply there's anything wrong with Indian sweets? Of course not. Maybe we should think of all cultures as belonging to one world culture. They're all connected anyway, to lesser or greater extents.
@usenlim43792 ай бұрын
@@karanvasudeva5424 In some extent, there is. English, instead of Spanish or French, becomes a lingua franca because in some extent English culture is better. If anything, Scandinavians should export their culture abroad not the other way around. Scandinavian countries are the most happy, peaceful and productive countries.

We walk such a similar path and I still say that the “powers that be” that claim any righteousness, in the torture of a child, is the deepest most true proof that this world is nothing but a trap. To pay off karma? To learn about ourselves? 🤬 There is NO justification to hurt the heart of a child except for the personal gain of another. To crush their soul out of bitterness, jealousy, greed, and fear. We were and are light beings with no reason to learn any more about ourselves. We were full and complete when they enticed us here through our love. We saw suffering and came to help. Just as they knew we would want to do. Now we are stuck until we learn to quantum travel beyond their trap. BUT the hardest part is to leave anyone behind in this 🤬 trap. So very hard to know that they will entice others to replace us. Long before I learned of this idea, that we live in a trap, I was already joking that while my soul was waiting for a body I was talked into the “deluxe” package. They played it up as some kind of personal challenge that I proved I was worthy of taking. My 🤬🍑! The Astro plane, and the reincarnation industry, is driven by fear obsessed beings. They lost their love and mutual respect and were swallowed up by their fear. We are waking up and escaping so they have sent out alarms to attract more light beings. Alarms about the 1000s of cows and pigs taken out per hour. The alarm of climate change. The horror of the shredding of 14,000+ children in just 9 months of letting Netanyahu loose on the Palestinian people. Not to mention Sudan and the other gen sides happening at this moment. Feeding… what? Not sure but none of this is for learning, atoning, or love. This world is run by cowards who want nothing more than to crush the strength that comes from love & mutual respect. I cannot see it any other way than that. When our souls leave this world, and enter the Astro plane, we think we feel love surrounding us there but NO. It is simply the absence of the pain they made us feel in this world. Love and absence of pain are two different things.
@memesmojo56228 күн бұрын
48:37 This is not proof at all, in fact its the proof of the opposite. Arupa meditations lead to rebirth in the arupa realms, so if vajrayana masters are able to take births as humans it proves that they have control over karma and are not cultivating arupa dhyanas... Also, there are different nondual states, ans it is said that a person who has realized true buddhist nonduality has no defilment...

Now your are tying hard to do so, please don't comment especially if it's not your area of expertise, world needs peopel like him, In many Eastern philosophies, such as those found in Buddhism or Taoism, there's an emphasis on inner growth and self-awareness as keys to understanding and transcending ordinary life.
