Look at the broncos, when walters came in for his first year it was a mess. Second year they made finals and maintained their position for a while but incredibly got knocked out of the entire top 8 and *just* missed out on finals. Now this year we’ve only ever seen them in the top 3 as a strong, threatening side. You’re not gonna turn around a bottom-level club within your first year of coaching.

Sorry I just don't "get" how Doggies got belted by a Knights side who have hardly set the comp on fire for years and Gus says the coach is doing an "outstanding" job. Dogs have lacked the grit to stay in the fight in many games this season which reflects on coach and the staff at Doggies.They actually looked far more committed under Potter after Barrett was "let go" by Gus. Gus says you can't go out and "buy " your way out of the cellar yet for me that is exactly what he is trying to do. Without being a smart arse the Warriors finished below Dogs last year and have had a lot of injuries but have got their "culture" right with far more commitment than in previous years leading to better results yet one never hears Gus mention "culture" in relation to Dogs.

Well said Gus yes rebuilding means just that. The youth will get fit tough and gain skills with exposure to the game . Hang in there the past caused this but the future will come good say 2 to 3 years time were Queensland's former Victorians so we're not bias just sensible. 😊

The Dogs have got some talent coming through and it takes time to get them up to speed and hardened for NRL. The Dogs reggies are leading the NSW cup at the moment. I have no doubt they will come through much stronger over the next 2 years. As a Dragons fan I feel the Dogs fans pain (just a wee bit cos, hey, they are the Dogs!)

Sure. About 7-8 years ago, Des Hasler signed our stronger players to back end loaded contracts, meaning that by about 2019 they were all owed tremendous amounts of money that the salary cap couldn't permit. Because of this, the bulldogs had to pay other clubs to take on offloaded players... they played half of the salaries of our best players whilst they played for the roosters, sharks, manly etc. They still had to field a team over the salary floor, so they paid a lot of money to mediocre players in order to fall into the legal salary bracket. They're now stuck with overpaid players per their skill until next year, and they've had trouble recruiting on top of that due to the teams obvious poor performers and effortless culture. Hope this helps

Support your club through thick and thin. Fair-weather fans love to whinge. Their behaviour is shameful. The boys on the field have been disappointing but they are very young. Lift them up and actually support them and their families. Booing your team is a weak and stupid thing to do. Anyone caught burning the colours should be banned from the club and have their membership suspended or cancelled!

They had a better access to players in terms of recruitment, whom preferred to go to this side due too Gould and subsequently Ciraldo. Check player roster for this year and last year. At least the Tigers (Cowboys 3rd) and Dragons (Cronulla 2nd) lost too teams that finished in the top 4 last year. Newcastle finished in the bottom 4 last year, to be exact they finished 14th.

Payne Haas is the real deal. We need to make him the highest paid prop in the game. We can offer 1.1-1.2m and build players around him like morrin, Preston, kikau and even Max King if he plays like he did start of the year.

As someone who's spent the last 21 months building and creating a Touch Football Team, I 100% agree with Gus. "It Takes Patience to Achieve Greatness." The Bulldogs, Tigers and hopefully the Dragons will eventually get back to the top, provided that a long term plan is in place to fully fix the problem and everyone involved with the club is on board with that notion. Trying to get quick fixes as Gus said will only result in more problems for said club in both the short term and the long term as well.
