@@Alvari1 I barely play. I've played less than 5 full games but still LOVE it. my best shot was a long putt. There was a bet for $20 if I made the shot but I was not confident I would even get close (at least 15 ft putt) so I said no bet. Then I made the shot. I didn't even care about the money....but he made me take it bc he was thrilled too. Best game ever

@spencer I believe that that is the 16th hole Phoenix Open at the Scottsdale TPC. That is one of those "rowdy" par 3's on tour (another being 17 at the Buick Open). Lots of drinking and yelling, but notice that the crowd are silent until the instant the ball is struck then it's let loose time. They were rewarded on this occasion.

I once was watching when a guy, a stranger, hit a wild tee shot off of a very tall (60 feet) rock cliff to left of green ... and it ricocheted onto green and into the cup for an ace. But easily the greatest shot in history of golf resulted in a lost ball. I was playing with a close friend, who has to rank as one of the worst golfers ever, he was lying 3 on a par 4 only 100 yds from tee, and faced with a shot that would hopefully just miss a very tall tree 75 yards in front of him, then another 40 yards over a deep gully. TREE WITH ABSO ZERO LIMBS ON EITHER SIDE, and with a diameter no wider than a foot. Before he even stepped up to the ball, he said "Doug, I know what is going to happen. I am going to hit my best shot of day (he had hit NOTHING but ground balls or sculled shots when away from greens), It will take off like a rocket, hit the right side of that tree about 25 feet up, then careen into those woods to right and down that steep embankment ... and be gone." I told him no way, that he probably wouldn't even reach the tree at all. He smugly said, "Just watch." AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED!!! The Babe Ruth called shot of golf .... And sure enough, I went to look for the ball, but soon realized it was a lost cause.
