I found it very moving, too, Catherine. Bardem conveys feeling like no other, sometimes just with a look or attitude. Uxbal is such a complex character, ultimately noble despite misguided choices. We see life's unfairness and suffering.

I watched this film more than 10 years ago and still this is the best movie for me. I haven’t seen anyone in Japan who tell about the heart of this film.Showing the hard part and difficulty of life is a method but a purpose. It’s just saying that all the effort done by Uxbal and others by money or act for only themselves did not make any success.Saying how terrible each scene means nothing which is the mainstream of film review in JP. Many people saying that this is sad story showing how life is hard but still we need to carry it on. It not the heart. Uxbal asked his daughter to remember him after his death. We know his daughter is the one who understands what real beauty is(she thinks the ring Uxbal gave her is beautiful.She doesn’t care it’s real diamond or not) In a view of brain functional science, people remember something most when they fail. His daughter will find, after his death, that the word “buitiful” Uxbal though her is a misspell. This is a relief for Uxbal because every time his daughter comes across any “buitiful” things and moments in the rest of her life, she automatically remember her father with the beauty.Uxbal’s hope is achieved in the way he did not intend. As a father of 2 little daughters after 10 years I saw this film, I think this is one of the greatest way to be remembered by my daughters after my death. I love and respect this film because of this. Hope to get to know someone who has same idea about this film.

A mí me gustó el ost de tlou 1 y fue recién cuando salió el miniconcierto en sony que vi la cara del compositor, porque ni siquiera lo había buscado. La cuestión es que él mismo afirma que por el juego se hizo conocer más, tanto por el número de personas como por las franjas de edades
