For those who enter the country illegally and then perform a violent crime on top of that, the punishment should be the maximum allowed by law. And, for others who have entered and haven't committed a violent crime and do nothing to try to contribute in a positive way, why should they be allowed to stay. How many are in hotels, etc., where their room and board is being paid by the taxpayers who have zero intention of working, etc.? They should be sent back from where they came. They weren't escaping somewhere for a better life, they just wanted to be able to do nothing and be able to live life on the backs of others.
