I compose songs and been teaching myself a long time.. There was no You Tube . We didn't have digital tuners. Maybe a pitch pipe. Nobody knew what they were doing. Only the last few years with You Tube has helped me. I appreciate it.

Dude, automatically, this just changed my playing. I use the chords you demonstrated all the time but I never connected the lines you just showed. I turned on the backing track in Bb and instantly, staying within the patterns, my solos sound so melodic, and everything has changed. I'm so excited. Thank you.

I’ve watched the opening of this video about 7 or 8 times.. Guthrie it’s absolutely beautiful .. it’s emotional and to be honest it touches my soul. It’s melancholy but kind spirited.. one of the best tunes I’ve ever heard next to feeling bad blues by Ry Cooder.. it touched me brother.

@@guthrietrappmusic absolutely! I sat in and jammed with you about 14-15 years ago when you were sitting in with our friends Dread Clampitt. Had a blast, it was such an honor. You said some of the stuff I was doing reminded you of Joe B. I’m a big Bonamassa fan and opened up for him around 2005 in Austin. I’ll never forget that moment sharing music with you and hope I have to honor again in the future, but I’ll get to work so I can speak better on the instrument. I don’t play much with all the time invested in my family and work, but you RE inspired me with this knowledge and playing you shared!

Thanks a bunch, man! All these intros for the most part are improv. There might not be a consistent progression. Thanks again!
@BKERSC Жыл бұрын
Hi, I misspoke…progression is too simplistic, I just study what you do. Honestly, I started watching you last year or so, and you have inspired me more than any other guitarist, teacher, etc. Yotube is funny, I spend so much time with your videos, feel like I know ya. But all one sided! To that end, if you ever find you and your family out it in the PNW and need anything, you have a friend here

Guthrie…I was just visiting Nashville weekend of March 24 and while at dinner I decided to see if by chance you were playing live anywhere that night (same night as John Mayer playing at the Bridgestone), and there it was…Guthrie Trapp at Rudy’s Jazz Room starting at 11pm. The wife was cool with staying up and I booked it by pure chance! Had a ball. You were amazing. I was going to come up and introduce myself and shake your hand but figured I’d let you be. Amazing playing. Tim Marks (bass) and Jordan Pearlson (drums) were awesome. You were funny as hell on stage. Thank you for what you do and you are an amazing player bro.
