*Your company is low on men and ammo. Moral is at an all time low. You feel a sense of dread as you exit the catacombs. Your company commander orders you to use explosive barrels to clear a way. You do and see two opposing cannons and a high ranking officer on boxes ordering you to defend until a boat can pick you up. As some other people load the cannons you hear a scream ahead of you position. “They’re here”. You think as your commander orders you to hold positions. You start to think you won’t make it back to Corsica and see your kids and wife again. In between all this chaos ,distant fighting,and screams from other sectors you hear a melody start to play. Church bells ring in the distance and canons start to shoot. You realise that the city and its population while surrounded and outnumbered stand strong and with back up militias and other armies coming in support. You will make it out no matter what. As your company dies around you your officer orders you to jump onto the boat but with the band and bells playing you charge. In that moment you felt like you were the king defending his nation; fighting a losing battle yet still swinging like some lunatic, you were on top. As you realise your grave mistake and try to go to the boat you notice it’s gone. They left you. With no hope left you charge into the crowd and start slashing and stabbing. You scream but not in pain but in pure euphoria. You feel alive again. You kill several undead but you get grabbed from behind. You feel a sharp pain in your neck. They have you. As you get eaten alive you notice a militiaman on the roof. It was to late for you but he told your story and what you did. Camps in nearby towns and F.O.B’s hear about you. “The crazy bustard” or “The man who stood agents the tide”. The story spread like a wildfire inspiring and boosting the spirits of the men who heard it. With this newly gained moral defences hardened and assaults along the cities streets, roofs, and wells tripled in effectiveness. Your story saved Paris. You saved Paris.”

We almost outnumbered, i thought we gonna lost... But i made a decision, to distract the zombie while the rest of the other making run to the boat. i was able to distract the zombie. And 6 people made it to the boat...

The first time I played Paris catacombs me and another player got left behind by the rest of our team, I think I went the wrong way and he was following me. We were both navy men if I remember correctly and we spent most of the game trying to catch up with our team, wandering endlessly through the dark rooms not finding a zombie nor soldier. Not sure what our team was doing but we eventually found the exit and as we stepped into the moonlight for the first time the song in the video started playing as we rounded a few corners and finally, after what seemed like an eternity alone in a dark maze, saw our teammates and prepared to defend the bridge, and while ultimately we lost the game, I even saw the guy I was lost with get eaten alive, in the end it didn’t really matter to me, we made it out and made our final stand with our team defending Paris, the music swelling to the most well known part of the song. I don’t play this game much but god I love it.

I remember fighting the horde until the end of the last stage, i was so focused on it that i didn't notice the ferryman who was getting closer to us with the boat, and i realized that when all my teammates already jumped onto it, leaving me alone with a bunch of runners and zappers xd

There is lines of barricades, the zombies slowly but surely breaking through, a few Cannoniers still fire the cannon, some will fire until the last breath, the first line is broken, the cannons still fire and many brave soldiers hold out the line with sabers, the navy men stay behind for crowd control, you can see the boat coming in, the sappers build one last wall the cannons are overun, you are backed all the way back, the zombies are marching towards you, the soldiers holding off the front are dead, the navy men still try and shoot the zombies, the infantry fix bayonets, and you take out your sabre, the zombies hit and the boat rolls in, you jump into the hay bale while a couple soldiers are killed, you are finally rowed to safety

One time I was playing this map, we started with 11 pepole and through the catacombs part we lost every soldier so when we finally got to the "defending the bridge" section there were only 5 of us. We thought that we wont make it so one person left the server, leaving us with only 4 pepole. As the hordes of undead started to flood us we miraculously stood our ground. The music kept our determination high, but we slowly got pushed from the barricades towards the bridge. The best thing about this experience is when at 2:20 as we were pinned to the barricades on the bridge this part of the song started playing and someone activated the "charge" ability, we were slashing through the zombies even pushing them almost to the other barricades but then the charge ended and we were again pinned to the bridge. Sadly none of us made it, everyone was dead when the bout was under the bridge, but it was the best game ever that I will never forget.

This map is the best example of how sappers can either ruin or enhance a map. With even one competent sapper, the experience of desperately holding back the horde with cannons and blaring classical music is completely ruined as barricades make it basically impossible for the zombies to gain any ground. With a less competent sapper or simply no sapper at all however, this map is absolutely incredible. With a strong frontline defence, the zombies will generally only gain significant ground near the end of the song. This means that your entire team will, at some point, NEED to work together to win. It’s a hectic and exhilarating mad dash to the boat with cannons in perfect sync with Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece blaring in the background. When you finally make it to the boat, it feels like you EARNED it.

Fun fact: When 1812 overture starts playing and you abandon the cannons Jeans artillery men start helping you by shooting the cannons on the other side of the bridge they are synced with the music and have the effects but they dont help :( Fun fact 2: If you focus on the other side of the bridge you can see the horse carriages in the distance going away.

And then the 1812 Ost Theme ends..

One time in the bridge, a sapper was getting jumped by a horde of zombies and me, who's already infected, hits the barrel near him with my sabre, killing me in the process, but saving his life. Of course this doesn't have a happy ending, he died to a horde of zombies and the Seaman did NOTHING, even when his blunderbuss was fully loaded. It is G&BP, so never expect a happy ending.

I know user-pr3 already did this, but i'd like to do this too... plz :) ok, here i go... (PD:I'll make it from the start of the map and PD2: I'll make a team of 40 men because it's more epic. Sorry for this, and let's get started :D!) You and your team have grown tired of listening to the cries of others because of 40 men acumulated in a little zone in the middle of the empire of the dead, so you decide to head off outta there. Affortunately for your team, there aren't too many zombies, and, the way you go its quiete lineal, so, you dont worrie about the path. After fending off a horde, you finally get outta the catacombs. You and the rest of your teammates get excited, too, but you remember something. You gotta get outta paris. After happiness passes out, you see that you're surrounded by barricades. After that, you see a high-rank officer who says: "Hello, im Jean. were evacuating the last parisians of the city, so we need You to hold out, but, dont worry! We will ring the bells of the Notre Dame to advert a boat to come saves you. Remember, the destiny of dozens of paridisians depends on YoU! Defend the horde. Good luck!" After that, some members of the team start building a giant barricade. Meanwile some musicians start thinking about playing a song to motivate the troops because they've heard by a history of a place called San Sebastian. The story said that a group of musicians were touching a song. Meanwhile, the men were fighting, and that made them braver. You dont really believe in that story. When the zombies start to appear, you and your team start getting nervous, but you gotta be brave. More and more zombies start to appear, and the courage, fervour, and brabery of the company start to decline incredibly fast. At least, you have as much ammo as needed Then, you start to quickly fall back. All hopes are lost. But then... The musicians start playing their song. You feel it. The courage, the power! Wile song gets better, and better zombies start to fall back as fast as you did moments ago. But something changes things. (And it isn't the barricades from where zombies are coming) The Notre Dame bells start ringing, and that makes musicians get lost and have to improvise, which makes that you dont feel like a phew moments ago. That makes you fall back a bit. When the battle gets a bit close, the bells of Notre Dame stop ringing, causing the musicians to unite again to play a song that will greatly motivate the team. You start seeing the bouat so zappers start building tons of caltrops to slow them as much as possible while the rest of the team makes the las charge. Finally, the boat arrives, and you save yourself. But, some of you must sacrifice because of limited space in the ship. They do a charge in the crowd and kill lots of zombies. They could have given up at any moment because they already knew that everything was lost. But they still fought until the end. They were braver than Napoleon. They fighted till the end. That made that they had a bit more recognition than the others, but without traces. (total all of them are dead anyway) The history of your team is heard in Hole europe, giving even the most unfortunate soul a reason to fight. Your team helped to win so many battles. Your team made it. Your team was one of the most important factors in this war. Your team did what anyone could. Your team did it. Ok, that's it, MY FINGERS T_T. I hope y all enjoyed it! You are not wrong, but as shown in the game the soldiers during the war managed to deal with the zombies to escape, even if many sacrificed themselves and died, a small percentage survived to tell the tale, So the leaders would know what's going on but apparently in the game they already know what's going on, between the armies they will come together to eliminate the threat if everything works out between them. But whether they like it or not, it would be really cool if that actually happened. 0:27: We were pushed back and must need a musician boost, although the musician was brutally cannibalized. 0:33: Gunners and cannoneers shot so many bombers, they exploded some shamblers giving us time to repair and build more defense. Also when I hear this, my motivation increases by 50%, 70% if there was more zappers shamblers and runners. 1:20: We were already near the canons hoping that Jean and his mates went to ring the bells. We used CS always incase there were big groups. 2:22: The baracades were just where the Bridge starts. Thankfully, the ferryman is on his way. Pike users quickly perished. 2:34 My motivation increased to 130%, the officers and priests used there charge and crusifix to stun and kill the zappers and shamblers. 2:49: We landed safely on the boat, runners rushed but hopefully missed.
