How did you anchor your gazebo on your deck? Thx great video
@Cannerymom3 жыл бұрын
Hi there I bought this gazebo ,but added roofing inside of what came with pack, we have snow during the winter.
@weekendworrier35133 жыл бұрын
fyi out of the box we had 11inches of snow and it was fine. Not sure what the snow load ratings are for this gazebo but it is pretty strong. Gutters should be fine if you set them to be lower than how the roofline extends, as mentioned in the video.

very informative..Thank you!! Could you please tell what is the horizontal distance between roof overhang and outside of the post? I am planning to install it right next to my existing shed so wondering how much distance should I keep while installing the post. I would also need to consider gutter (4inch) width before I drill hole for anchor.
@weekendworrier35132 жыл бұрын
depending on how accurately you mount the roofing structure (it needs some muscling in places and can be a little off), it is 6.5 to 7 inches from outside of post to where you mount the gutters to. then another 4 inches for gutter width. cheers, and good luck with your project bud

Thank you for the video! Should there be a mesh to keep the drain from clogging up? A video on that would be great.
@weekendworrier35133 жыл бұрын
i don't need it on mine but yeah you could probably put some kind of mesh for that.
@BigHomie0302 жыл бұрын
I did this and if you don’t add a drip edge the gutters will leak. Mine did anyways. So I had to un install them and loosen the roof and then add a drip edge and then afterwards re install the gutters again.

Great video and "Thank You!" for this one on the gutters. Very helpful. I just finished this same gazebo from Costco. Can I please ask though, do the gutters not want to bend in towards the gazebo since they don't really have any inside support on the lower section of the metal gutter? I hope I explained that okay.
@weekendworrier35132 жыл бұрын
They hang down only maximum 1.5 inches below the wood they are mounted to, which is not enough to undermine the rigidity of the gutters. If you were worried about it though, you could place some small L brackets mounted to the underside of the wood at a few places along the gutter. Good luck with your project, you are welcome!

look in the description under 'Brackets'. the brackets come with screws.

I just bought metal gutters at Home Depot. Their annoying because they only come in 10' lengths but still beats paying the minimum 500.00 to a gutter company. I'm also in the PNW and have exactly same Gazebo from Costco. Be forwarned; this gazebo has allot of parts and labor to put together. I also needed a third guy because I'm older and to lift these panels in place was an effort with even two guys.

Is it worth making your own shed?
@weekendworrier35132 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean. If you mean build your own gazebo like this, the prices of lumber have come down but you would still be hard pressed to build something like this at the same rate as doing it yourself. Either way you still have some assembly. If you like the look of this I would go with this gazebo kit. If you mean build your own shed and not a gazebo, there are shed kits available, but they often use poor materials. Suggest pay a company to build a shed for you or yes, do it yourself in place.

Nice job! About how far from the edge of the roofline to the gutters extend? A little less than 4"?
@weekendworrier35133 жыл бұрын
Thank you! yeah the roof hangs 1 inch over the rim 2x4 it is mounted to, so the gutters jut out 3 inches more from that, increasing the total area of the covered space by a significant amount. Good luck!
@jny783 жыл бұрын
This is attached to the roof correct? Also isn’t this the thinner part? Are you worried about splitting over time
@weekendworrier35133 жыл бұрын
you attach the gutters to the 2x4 at the bottom of the roof frame, yes. As long as you drill in to some meat of the 2x4 it should not split. Pull down on the gutter and get an screwdriver extension so impact driver body is not interfering with your ability to put in a screw through the gutters at an upward angle into that 2x4. should be fine.

Very good video. Thank you for sharing. Quick question , I noticed you didn’t anchor all bolts for the gazebo. Is that ok? I am thinking to buy the same one, but don’t know if I need to anchor it or not. Thank you.
@weekendworrier35133 жыл бұрын
if you live in a windy place i would anchor it in all 4 places per column. Ideally using normal bolts/nuts/washers not lag screws. I ended up (after i shot this video) using lag screws with washers because 1. it is hard for me to get under the deck and 2. because my area does not get super windy and 3. it was what i had. I think I had 2-3 lag screws in for each column. It was fine for my area which gets max 30mph winds. also suggest use galvanized or stainless not zinc coated.

@@SundarKothandaraman yeah one downspout is fine since it is 10 ft long. Unless you have a deck that is very high above the ground, one is enough.

I just bought metal gutters at Home Depot. Their annoying because they only come in 10' lengths, but still beats paying the minimum 500.00 to a gutter company if you can even get someone to come out. Wa. is a libtard State that pays people not to work, so companies like mine are having a tough time even finding someone to work. I'm also in the PNW and have exactly same Gazebo from Costco. Be forewarned; this gazebo has allot of parts and labor to put together. You can expect two solid days 2 guys if you've never done one before.
