I recognized that round barn the moment I saw it. It always caught my eye as we passed it since the first time I saw it in the 1950s. I'm glad someone put some loving care into it and restored it, it was starting to look pretty shabby that last time I saw it in the mid '80s.

We had a local bbq joint on his show, to the day we left Texas it didn't change my love for that place or the style of their food. They still kept serving your 2 meat and all you wanted sides for $12.99 as you expected before he popped on in for a little grub. Will say that place before and after is still got the BEST brisket I've ever had.

While enjoying the segment with Guy's Camaro, my dad, Roger, got a kick out of the "Shopping Cart Hot Rod". When it rolled out, he said," There's Debbie's (my wife) car !!" As Debbie has been a purchaser for various companies over the years, it would be accurate. His way of saying she's a pro-shopper. My first car was a hand-me-down 1968 Camaro SS. For CNBC fans, I bought it from the dealership owned by Marcus Lemonis' relatives, who lived down the street from us. That 1968 Camaro was never surpassed in looks, the 1969 muscle-car model turning a pretty car into a serious street machine. What those cars needed most were good tires; we got Goodyear giant doughnuts on it from GM, preventing us from turning the wheel. With Michelin radials, it became a serious road car in and of itself...

mr zed me too. Made $5.50 an hour and college cost $3k a year. You could get a decent used car for $1500. 1 bedroom apartment was $150 a month. Health care was affordable. Now they make $7.50 an hour but everything is 4-5x more expensive. Business also thrived w top tax rates at twice what they are now. Everyone got a raise except the people who can least afford to not get one.
