Fabio119 Why’re you so angry about a show teaching people vegan recipes? They’re not telling you to be vegan, anyone can make and eat those recipes...
@Emilyjadeofficial5 жыл бұрын
Fabio119 I understand what you’re saying but this channel and this video specifically is not about any agenda, it’s just showing a different way to eat if you want to. I’m down to discuss it further with you if you wish. What nutrients do you think that a plant-based diet lacks? And it is animal agriculture that is responsible for the most environmental degradation. Not only do we have to raise the animals, but the animals themselves eat a TON of plant foods, way more than the entire population of humans could eat. So we’re actually promoting more plant agriculture by eating animals...
@anarchofonzi81395 жыл бұрын
Fabio119 You make your own cholesterol. You don’t need to consume any to be healthy. Saturated fat should be reduced in most people’s diets anyway. There is still plenty of good fat in nuts, seeds, avocados, and more. Of the nutrients you mentioned, b12 is the only one that truly isn’t readily available in plants and it IS available in nut milks. Most omnivores are also b12 deficient so supplementation is recommended for anyone regardless of diet unless you’re regularly tested to be sure you’re not deficient. Agricultural land use is primarily made up of food grown for the animals you eat. When people eat more plants they reduce the amount of agricultural space needed because we eat far less than cows and pigs do. Our numbers are expanding at a faster rate every and we’re healthy. You can’t do shit about that so cry moar.
@Emilyjadeofficial5 жыл бұрын
Fabio119 Okay, here are some examples of plant sources of each vitamin you listed. If these foods aren’t available, it’s really easy to chew a vitamin gummy or spray a vitamin spray once in a while. -Vitamin A: sweet potato, squash, cooked kale, cooked carrot, red pepper, Swiss chard, spinach, romaine lettuce, mango, cantaloupe, grapefruit. As well as most breakfast cereals, fake meat, and fortified plant milk. -Vitmain D3: this shouldn’t be a concern if you get enough sunlight. But besides this there’r mushrooms, fortified cereal, juices, fake meats and plant milks. -DHA: nori, seaweed, chlorella, spirulina, and more. -K2: natto, sauerkraut, tempeh, kombucha, and more. -B12: is not actually a vitamin, but rather made by bacteria. Due to modern sanitation, it is recommended that everyone supplement b12. However, just a few weeks ago scientists found a new plant source of b12, duckweed! Anti-nutrients are really commonly misunderstood, especially by the Joe Rogan/Dave Asprey/Chris Kresser community. What you need to know about anti nutrients is that: 1. They don’t block the absorption of the nutrient entirely, only a small amount during that specific meal. 2. Anti nutrients only become a problem if you eat HUGE volumes of the same food every day. And, 3. If you are dangerously deficient in those nutrients already The name “anti nutrient” is misleading because it’s only referring to one action that occurs (the nutrient blocking) and ignoring the incredible health benefits. Many of these so-called anti nutrients also have properties that fight cancer, protect from free radicals, protect from UV rays, support blood sugar, rescue osteoporosis risk, and more. Even so, most anti-nutrients are actually removed when we cook the foods. Remember that animal products have anti-nutrients too 😉 And yes, the animals we mostly eat (cows, chickens, pigs, sheep, goats, etc.) do eat plants in the form of grass, soy and grain. Most animals in agriculture are fed soy. In fact, over 95% of all soy grown on earth is fed to livestock. If we instead used all that land to grow food for us to eat, we could feed the world population many times over!
