Don't compare these amazing machines and this incredible sport to racing horses. Thoroughbred racing is cruel and archaic. Breeding animals for racing is largely a game of chance, its gambling with the lives of living creatures. Anyone who knows about car and motorcycle racing the knows the life of a racing machine is tough. you push them to their absolute limit. You break and repair them. You burn the tires and brakes. Lots of them get wrecked. Racing using animals is no different. I worked for several years at the winning level in dog sled racing and its beyond most peoples frame of reference how cruel animal racing is.
