These silly people, white pudding is not from Europe. The blood pudding is called Haggis. It is made from blood and they fried it like a sausage, but it is not Guyana pudding. Long ago there used to make white and black pudding with salt beef and the ginger. The ginger gave it a kick. Have you ever heard of sugar buns. When I was a little girl we used to buy a lemonade and a sugar bun. To eat after school as there would be extra classes for children taking the exams to attend High School. I used to go to Brickdam School, but I left a couple of years after that. There was a Chinese shop at Hadfield street and Camp used to sell it. I left Guyana when I was 15 years now I am in my seventies. If you heard of the sugar buns please let me now. There was a bakery on Durban street near Louisa Road. The best bakery, called Miss Daniel’s Bakery and the best patties, pine arts and various cakes. Also on House street there was a bakery shop they sold the best Tennis rolls. I have travelled to at least fifty countries and not even in New York the pastries dough are awful. My sister-in-law makes the most beautiful pastries dough, so just imagine how the pine arts, patties, cheese straws and sponge cakes tasted like. One last thing there was a lady in James street Albouystown who used to sell the best of all everything.. She would boiled her corn with salt beef. I would like to visit later this year if my health is good, but I will let you know.
