This game was definitely supposed to be the next hoi4: lots of very shallow and arbitrary systems, but there's no actual goal and the situations are very diverse so all the systems have different impacts everytime

I don't think you've played HOI4 if you think its "diverse" or that any of the systems are arbitrary. It's all extremely repetitive other than focus differences changing how countries interact. The systems are complex enough, a competent player can steamroll Paradox's shitty ai. There's literally mods that have made the AI so much better...not even specific AI mods. Even the pony mod makes the AI more fun.

@snowman4313 the racial caste system did exist. At the tail end of the Spanish colonial regime of Cuba, it may have died down a little, but the effects and the discrimination was still there. Also, the slaves count as Cuban, that's like saying African-Americans aren't Americans. It doesn't matter who sold the slaves, the land owners tied to the regime and the spanish upper crust still bought them.
