I've just bought the Patron 900, aluminium. Its a beast, managed to push two riders at once up the hill without breaking a sweat in trail mode. I still had turbo mode spare and I weigh 104kg. Doing downhill flying I felt the electric motor slow me down to keep me under 46kph. Handles berms & sloping rockfaces as good as my Specialized Epic full carbon weighing 9.5 kg. Has certainly added value to my biking life. Great video by the way. Had me swaying with you on the turns.

We’ll done review - listen carefully because he hits the major points - all while riding and sharing the scenery vs somebody’s show-off garage. From the U.S. here - just picked up the PATRON Carbon XT build - SCOTT not scared of revealing the weight - there’s a sticker on the seat-tube that says “Bicycle Weight 27 kg” - So not sure about the “lose 2 lbs going to Carbon”. “Land Yacht”-Funny and suitable? description. We weighed at bike shop after converting to tubeless - 55 lbs. That’s 1/5 the weight of my HUSQVARNA (KTM) FE501. So all the folks sitting on their tails and comparing lb here and there - get out and ride and try to hide the smile. At 5’10”, 150 lbs, old, not in best shape - Went w the Large. Website and bike shops try to put me in a medium - even after adding inches to my arms and legs - website kept spitting out “M”. Rode a medium, half a city block - knew needed the Large. this Patron is Fantastic. The ride up is a breeze and laughing fun - finally - mtn-bikers can experience how fun it is to Moto up trails. Going Down? Hahaaa… The weight probably is why this bike is so planted. Rolls through and over everything. Ask Aaron Gwinn if he wants lighter. Cornering? The BOSCH Cx motor tilted up to allow the 750 battery to be lower Prbly is the reason for the playful feeling. See Brendon Fairclough. IMO the SCOTT Twin-lock is not needed here. Somebody up high in SCOTT must be an XC fanatic. Since the shock is hidden, keeping a trigger for the lock-out on the rear would be okay, but it’s an eBike so would okay without it. Eliminating the fork cable opens up opportunity for a grip, and whenever u really felt the need to lockout or reduce the front suspension, it’s an easy reach to the fork. Why SCOTT doesn’t have presence in the U.S. is odd. Perhaps wanting for free press like TESLA. Everyone seems to say how beautiful the PATRON is, even when dirty. I really don’t care. This thing Motos! It’s true the design of the main frame members are done in a way, with balanced chiseled corners, that hides the girth look of other bikes with this big of a battery. I don’t do much social media - but the PATRON deserves a comment. Not much info in the U.S. on the PATRON line-up, so hope this helps some. And Cheers to the blimey blokes over in the UK for embracing eBikes early and sharing.

Hi Guy, great videos. I'm looking on getting my first emtb soon or when stock becomes available. In your opinion what's the better bike; Scott Patron eride 920 or the Whyte e160 v2? Any advice would be appreciated.Thanks, Alex

Hi Alexander, what sort of riding are you planning to do?
@alexanderparnell2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for getting back to me. Cross country, single track, down hill but nothing extreme... small jumps. I live near the south downs so nothing major down here but I would head up to the North downs occasionally where the climbing is harder.

@@alexanderparnell I’d look at the E160 as the Patron is a bit of a tank. The Mondraker Crafty is very good too and excellent value for the level of handling and suspension you get. there’s a review of the XR somewhere on my channel but the full Ohlins suspension is more than most people will need unless they’re racing so the standard Crafty bikes will be spot on for that mix of riding.

Its called Toboggan and it’s north of Staveley in the lakes. Best thing to do is ring/mail Wheelbase and they’ll be able to give you the full details

@@yaboobaker The Patron 900 Carbon is absolutely the pick of the range. A lot lighter for not that much more money 👌🏻
