They're a spanish and south american stable. I believe the very first ones ever used was also leather stamps but now they're generally used to make full cover nail decals, either semi cured gel or clear polish. They are traditionally made by cutting very small pieces of aluminium from soda cans and stuck as their shape into polymer clay. The fine metal from soda cans are much thinner and easier to work with. They wont work the same on a silicone mat when you press hard, you are to use them with acrylic paint and "glob" on like you would with a dotting tool doing mandala patterns ♥ xx

When I saw these, I really doubted they worked. Plus like you said, you can do so much more with plates. Thanks for showing them and confirming my suspicions. OMG what a great idea for entertaining your kitty.

I got a set to. I tried using it. The ones I got is like silicone. I couldn't get it to work. I used a hand brush and alcohol to clean it. Maybe I'll try again another time. Still think it was a waste of my money. I'll stick to my stamping plates. That I 💛....😊..

This is the first I’ve seen these and while it is cool they work with powder (good sleuthing there!) I’d say they aren’t worth it to try to get a metal set. Stamping plates offer so much more variety too. When I first saw them I thought maybe it’d be good for my young niece but they look way too fiddly! Bisqwik’s fan toy is hilarious. What a cutey 💜

I purchased the ones that were pictured as metal on Amazon Canada and when they arrived they were very similar to yours and were a silicone type as well, not metal. Messed around with them off and on for about a week. Tried stamping polish, regular polish, gel polish, gel paint, mud gel and acrylic paint and a sponge saturated with the various sorts of gel to act as an ink pad like for stamps and could not get any sort of decent results. My theory is that the metal ones are finer at the edge where it meets a surface and that means whatever you use for the image gets set down and not smushed away like happens with the thicker silicone/plastic ones. Requested a refund and received it, was not required to send the item back but likely will just trash them - not worth the hassle of trying to find the perfect combination of medium, pressure and everything else.

Thanks for taking one for the team! I wonder if they'd be cool for 3D nail art if you press them into modeling gel or something. Even then, the designs are kind of plain. By the way, I think that one that looks like a Mardi Gras mask might be supposed to be a butterfly from the side? 🤷‍♀

They should be made of rubber to be able to roll. Since you have them, try putting the polish on the silicone stamper and dipping the stamp into there. Since it is soft it may work like a stamp pad.

The polish beads when you do that. Not any different than on the mat. Good idea though.

I was thinking those would be used to emboss gel or acrylic - give texture - with or without powder. I'm thinking a few ways to do it, not that it would work. Thanks G!!

i haven’t seen these at all. they remind me of leather tools for stamping leather.

Looks like they are what you would use with ink pads or alcohol ink.

I kept seeing these on aliexpress and didn’t get the point when stamping plates have better designs. I figured maybe pressing them into wet acrylic might be interesting but that’s the only use I could see them maybe having

you need a flexible stamp head for a curved surface or forget it !

Well hello my friend! I’ve missed you ! I try to watch everything but gel swatching since I don’t use it. I hope you got your card. I think you said you did on IG. I mailed 16 so it’s hard to keep straight sometimes who told me they got it. But I like to know so they don’t feel like I didn’t send one if it gets lost- and they do.

you said somewhere it said ink. I wonder if you use an ink not nail anything? I’d also say one stamp then redip into medium. The stamp looks hard not flexible. That’s why you don’t get a crisp impression. Our stamps in card making they make some in a red rubber and I think that would work better. I don’t see the advantage to this idea at all.

I tried ink. Same issue. The ink I mentioned was in the Amazon listing. Sounded like it was in the stamp. They suck 😁

I would like to know where to purchase magnetic pigment and what can be done with them after stamping. Do they smear if they are top coated?? I need to look in your past videos for them. Also, great idea to use the laser pointer with the fan to keep your kitten active and entertained. Hopefully the cat will never become wise enough to look above. 🙃

I didn't do a video on the Magnetic pigment I don't think? One of the many ones that I filmed but never posted I've think. But I painted some swatch tips to film using it. The cat run through the house dragging a feather on a wire with a wooden hand handle, so I think we are safe with the laser 🤣

@natashawho5508 oh and I bought them years ago on Amazon, and they don't smear with top coat, you just mix a little on a mat with base, then apply.

I do not think spending money on these is worth it. I will stick with my stamping plates. I like using a stamper because I can see that I am getting a good image.
