Freesia gets me-- please guys, when girls ask "what are we" please don't give her the answer you think she wants to hear. Just be upfront the way she was with you.
@Airsole23
@Airsole23 3 жыл бұрын
True fck bois will give you the answer you want to hear. The reason I said, “true fck bois” bc girls can’t distinguish the two, if a guy is upfront and honest about not wanting to be in a relationship, girls would still consider him a fck boy. But I think at least the guy is being honest and upfront with what he wants. And he isn’t stringing you along, so if you girls choose to be with a guy like that, it’s at your own discretion and risk.

Omg the last guy that I'm still getting over is like "i want to date," then says "idk," then drunk calls and text me saying "I want you to be my gf," then the next day is "idk," then "we're friends." I felt played cause we were having sex too. I still feel dumb about it.

I typically don’t bother asking the “what are we question” because the guys who have been interested in being in a relationship with me were always super intentional and active in pursuing me. That’s what I like and When someone is being more casual with me I usually take that to mean that they arnt interested enough to commit or we just went a good match because of our different ideals for intentionality. I absolutely hate feeling like I’m in a “chasing” role as the woman ... so if I ever had to ask a guy “what are we?” I’d feel like I was the one pursuing him to get him into a relationship (not my thing)
@Airsole23

Sexist lol. Chasing isn’t a gender role. What happen to female empowerment and equality. Some guys like girls that chase and take initiative
@EmilyRaskett

@@Airsole23 That's fair, I'm probably just attracted to guys who tend to take the initiative and are intentional. I didn't mean it to sound sexist, people like different things... lol and I mean I'm an engineer I feel pretty empowered I'm just not the type to ask a guy on a first date
@Airsole23
@Airsole23 3 жыл бұрын
@@EmilyRaskett so you are traditional when it works to your advantage lol? I’m just giving you a hard time, nothing wrong with that. Some guys like chasing woman, it’s like hunting 😆. And girls love the attention that ( cute guys) guys are giving them. Double standards exist, but for girls not to acknowledge that is funny to me. It’s cool that you aren’t one of those girls.

Definitely a strong supporter of asking "what are we?" as soon as possible, while also elaborating on what I want and am looking for at that time. This way no one is surprised or hurt, and any awkwardness is out of the way early on. Not sure how I would feel hearing "I need a cha cha beat boy" while in the bedroom ... lol

Hands up to those who are brave enough to drop the ‘What are we?” question. 🙌🏻 Trust me. It really takes a lot of courage for girl to pop that question due to many possible outcomes that could happen (overthinking cue 😂). As a girl who is no longer interested in short flings at my age, it’s a form of security as of whether I should continue on fighting for it or move on to pour my time on someone else who is more serious. Mixed signals is very frustrating for me because I don’t know whether it’s ok for me to move on and pour my time into the right person. I’ve dropped the question before and oh wells, I got my answer and saved my time.
@niamhwatson

reality is..women shouldn't have to ask, there's no need, the answer is there. 8:28 it's not that you don't know, it's that you just are not interested in defining it, it's super simple, and I think this goes both ways, if you are not moving forward or want to put a label to a relationship, you simply don't want a serious commitment with that woman/man. But also I've noticed that women are more open to just say someone is their boyfriend and then if it doesn't work, end it and move on, but men...they don't want to lose the benefits of a not-defined relationship (fb or fwb or whatever) unless they have a plan B, someone they like more or simply prefer to be alone. If a guy really likes a girl, they immediately feel the need to define the relationship to avoid any other guy having a chance with that girl, if not, they're just not sure they like the girl that much and they're just waiting for someone they truly like to come along. But the same applies if a guy asks a girl to be his gf and the girl says "let's not put labels" or things like that, there might be exceptions but not really 😂

It depends because I do not let social media define my relationship hence why we both not to publicly announce our relationship. A lot of it comes to you and your partner having same values and goals. Both prefer a private relationship etc.

It depends, sometimes ppl might still need to figure out if it is a good fit, which takes time, it is more about both parties are on the same page/pace or not
@KaleHello
@KaleHello 3 жыл бұрын
@@jennycheng9632 I agree, what social media has done is essentially a platform to "show" the world who you are dating. But how I see it is like this, if one does not work out with the person, you lose less face. It is less drama for your relationship and less perceptions of what people think of you to keep private matters separate from public. I think that is why I was able to get to know such a nice man and now married for 2 yrs now after two yrs of dating.

Freesia articulates well with her thoughts from girls' point of view :) with the What Are We, I feel girls can take charge by setting a time limit to when she decides she wants to move on from that guy. With most girls (i think), its not that girls want a defined relationship now there and then when she asks that question, more like she wants to avoid having too emotionally invested and its easier to pull out of that situation earlier or re-adjust her expectations with the guy :)

I actually asked the “what are we” question which really got my current relationship to progress. I think it’s important in the sense that I know this is going seriously and to stop talking to others. During that time I was also on tinder and hanging out with people I could be interested in LOOOOL, but if I know that person considers us to be in a relationship, I’ll stop talking to other people and vice versa. It’s also out of respect to him because if he did think we’re serious but I wasn’t, then I’m not leading him on as well.

My dad taught me to ask “the question” from the jump. That way you can work out if you want to “play” with that situation or move on. If he “doesn’t know” then other opportunities are fair game and you don’t owe him your time or feelings. My dad is now a grandpa and the same message is being given to the grandchildren by him 🤗

Regarding the comment that says guys delay the DTR simply because he's not interested enough, I think it's true in majority of the cases. However, there will be situations when someone has just came out of a relationship or has had some previous experiences that make them slower to open up and/or need more time to truly realize their feelings for someone. This tends to happen more often to people (guys or girls) who are older and realize that instant spark and strong chemistry in the beginning have no direct correlation with the long term success of the relationship, so they like to take the time to truly know someone. I personally know someone who was very slow in the beginning to recognize his feelings for a girl (and was not committed very early on) but later got married to her after a few years.

Thanks for calling guys out on the 'no makeup' myth, Freesia (gorgeous name, btw!). Then again, this is all societal conditioning. The media keep telling women that body hair is bad, natural skin is bad, natural hair colour and texture are bad and so on and so forth. To the point that we're often shocked to see anything that differs from the imposed norm! Our artificially-created insecurities mean biiiggg money for the 'beauty' industry. Korea, unfortunately, is one of the biggest victims of this sickening propaganda - if not THE biggest! Great show, btw 👏

I think people with a lot of experience know exactly what they want while people without a lot of experience just have a lot of questions. It’s like reading the same book over and over again until another book series becomes interesting. As your mind gradually evolves then you’ll want more interesting book topics. As a person experiences more of life and this part of life then they might want more from it than physical attributes? Guys are more physically attracted to girls but as their personality comes out then it becomes less and less attractive. Everyone has their flaws though so it’s really about what you can deal with and if this person can adjust or accept differences. I think people overthink so many things when really it’s not difficult and is very natural. Shouldn’t it feel natural and serene? Like the break of dawn in the morning and how the sunsets at night time. That feeling that is very soothing where nothing feels complex. The sound of music and the way it is composed or how an author writes a novel. It is a bit like that and a deep connection of two people who have everything to give and nothing to lose. Unless it’s not this at all then what is it? What is it all about?

Asking this question might make or break the friendship built, if both parties were not on a same page. Great content, welldone👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Hope to see more from you guys. Kudos to everyone! ❤💜💚

For the question "what are we?" in my opinion I feel like girls are usually the ones to ask that question. For me I feel why do I need to ask this.Even in the beginning stages I make it clear I'm not sure what I'm looking for just dating and if it turns to something serious fine. I appreciate when guys are up front like that too. If they aren't sure from the beginning just let the girl know so if she is looking for a serious relationship and don't want a maybe. She has the option to stay or leave. Hope that makes sense ✌🏾

Let an old guy (79) interject. I have been following you both for a long time. Your great! There seems to be an expectation that the real objective is sex with women....not love and marriage. Perhaps I have missed it but I hear little mention of Love. I hear over analyzing of unsuccessful relationships. You take women on first dates to something simple. Get to start knowing each other. Do not jump into bed. That ends it. That will come in time...preferably when you wed. Love you both...Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I’d love to see you do a video on dating korean men. I’m dating a Korean man now and have dated a few before my current boyfriend and it’s definitely a challenge. Would love to know your perspective in regards to cultural, attitude etc. In my experience dating a Korean man you have to be okay with them showing their affection differently than you, as a white woman I told everyone I loved them constantly but in Korean culture it’s rare to even say that to family. I could go on and on but again, would love to hear your side especially if you have dated a non Asian!

Interesting with the 'what are we?' question. I live in London, U.K and when we date someone that is considered exclusive from the start. If a person was seeing more than two people that is considered cheating. Dating apps have changed things slightly, but that's the general consensus

Nice one guys 💯💯💯 Well asking what are we, Straight up put heavy expectations to a supposedly “let it flow and enjoy the fun ride, see where it goes r/ships” matter of fact, the guy may be polite by just saying what she wanna hear and down the road, he’s racing away. I rather have a guy ask such, then you know he’s hooked lol 😆, Cheerrrzzz 🍒
