It happened with me when my wife filed for divorce and left me texting me that she felt embarrassed by being with me as it would affect her modeling career. She even had the audacity to email me and also WhatsApp me to pay her college fees after texting me that she is filing divorce . I go to law school with my ex and I have to, unfortunately, see him every day. He broke up with me out of no where and gave me cop out reasons like, “we aren’t compatible” “I don’t make you happy,” which is not true. My ex (M24) broke up with me (F23) nearly two weeks ago, I’m absolutely devastated and did see that we’re getting a bit distant due to us both working a lot but nothing talking and spending time together wouldn’t remedy. However, he ended it saying he think we’ve been distant for months and has thought about ending for a while cause he no longer wants to be in the relationship, doesn’t love me anymore and is terrified of commitment. We’d been together for just over two years, we’d started to making little future plans such as moving in with friends first and then finally together when we’re about 26/7. He was the one that was always thinking about future plans, I was very happy just talking and living in the moment. I think he might have scared himself out of the relationship, that combined with the fact we’ve distant recently, I think has got him convinced that I don’t want to be with him either. Which is not the case at all and I’ve told him so. Breaking up is the last thing I wanted, he is the first thing I think of in the morning and the last thing before I go to bed, i literally can’t get him out of my head. It now sounds stupid when I think of the things I’d do for him and he can’t even talk to me about his issues and doesn’t even want to try and make the relationship work. He’s proper messed with my head, he was saying how much he loves me only 5 days before he ended it, am I suppose to think that he was faking the last couple of weeks/months as he says he hasn’t loved me in a while. Dear Coach Steven, My ex and I have reconnected, and 2 days ago I found out that he had sex once with the rebound, just under 2 months after we broke up. Although theoretically there is nothing wrong with this given the fact that we were broken up and he was not cheating, I can't help but feel so hurt and betrayed to learn this piece of information. You're not crazy. This is normal. The fact of the matter is that ALL MEN can easily go sleep with other women. We're MEN! Not WOMEN. MOST women need emotions to sleep with a person. Most men do NOT need emotions AT ALL to sleep with a person. So don't take it personal. You also need to make peace with the things that happened outside of your control. He's not a disobedient pet, who didn't listen to you. He's a man who made his own choices, independent of you. Abby Cloma same story. Literary same. Long distance. Forever in my heart and so on. It has been 3 months. I wrote him a letter a month ago and he was really moved but nothing since then. This guy called me on first date for dinner at his flat...I was reluctant at first but then agreed to meet him at his place for the first time. He made a move n we did everything. I came back n told him that I had a great time but I looking fr just hookups cz he wasn't a boyfriend material. Then met a couple of times he told me he had feelings for me n he want to date me till we are in same city i.e for 3months. He use to say he has feelings he thinks I am someone he wud not just be casual with etc n so many things. I did started liking him. They one day he said altho he has feelings but he don't want relationship. I was like okay but why are u telling me this I was the who told u this before. That day idk it just triggered me n I started asking him I don't wanna date anyone I want u n want more than what we are doing. I said this after a month. He constantly said he LL be leaving in 2 months. n he don't believe in long distance relationship cz he had a very bad experience last time. N he can't do it now. We had small fights then we also use to meet n had sex. One time I went to his place to talk about this seriously. I wasn't letting him touch me then he agreed okay u want this!? Okay I am asking u to be in a relationship n I want u to move in with me right now..I will be loyal but I will freak out n u have to handle that. I said yes n we had sex after that. In morning I asked him twice if he is sure about that. He said yes but later that day he started freaking out n asked me for one more day to rethink about this. I got angry what is there to think about. U said that to me yerstday that u want it now u want more time wtf. I was already kinda desperate by this time. I am telling u I don't want this. But then I said okay take ur time tell me tomorrow. Then he said I don't want this thanks for making it easier. Although I was trying hard to get away from him but I just cudnt cz sex was great. I had sex with him like 4 times after this. I know too much details. I kept on meeting him cz I thought he is not good looking not Rich... he use to ask me why I am with him cz I am out of his league etc. I thought this is just temporary feeling I LL get over it easily. But after realizing he is emotionally unavailable n I am clearly more invested than he is I flipped n shouted at him n ended everything on very bad term. I still cry sometimes. I know it was a long comment but I want ur suggestions cz it's totally hampering my studies.

Can I also get the male perspective on the other side of the table? What I mean by this is: we get that men love their freedom and independence. And relationships are intimidating (women feel the exact same if not more at times, usually when relationships drained us emotionally/left scars). But why do men also get in their feelings or confused when a woman does not want a relationship herself? Or doesn’t immediately claim him because she’s on this similar mindset? Why is it an issue then?

Hi, my ex and i broke up more than a month now.. i was too needy and kept on nagging him because i am too scared to lose him.. the reason for our break up is i hurt his family and his ex girlfriend (which is the mother of his kid) sent me a msg ang trigged me to say mean things to his family which her ex took a screen shot and sent them all to his family.. i dont know what to do since and he was stuck in a situation wherein he needs to be with his family or me... so i apologise to his family... i admitted my own mistake and ask him, begging, calling, txtng within a few weeks and he keep on telling me that i cannot be fixed and kept pushing me away... he told me that our relationship needs a cool off which i cant accept... he told me as well on how much he loved me but our situation was inevitable that i need to move on with my life because it will make it worse... he told me that i am the woman he taught him how to love again after 7 years with no serious relationship... he told me that he was happy with me but things got wrong and it cannot be undone.. damage has been done.. finally 5 days ago i sent him a msg saying that i will let him go for the better.. he said thank you politely... and i asked him if there’s anything that he wanted to add... he told me i am old enough... i need to learn things like acceptance, forgiveness and be good.... after a day i sent that msg i tried giving him a call but he was not answering but instead he sent me a msg asking “what now?” I told him that i will leave him for the better, i will be better and i am still hoping for the time that everything would heal and he is still welcome to come back... and i have not contacted them since... this has been “almost” a week now... should i give him time to think? Or i need to really move on? I am really hoping for your reply guys..

here I am post 2 days after break up. Our relationship lasted 10 years. we surpassed every challenge and through out the years i was always crying and crying and crying. and now he finds himself too guilty for everything. is this even the right REASON??? i think its true when they want to break up it wont change at all. we were in love since highschool. couple since 5 years. have been in a long distance relationship due to our studies n then career,. didnt spend much time together but always in contact and love. and now after 10 yrs of relationship he went abroad for further studies and after feeling lonenly their for 7months he broke up with me. during those 7months i tried to comfort him any way possible but slowly slowly he was shutting me off and not sharing his problems with me. few days after saying i love u for the last time he got engaed in other stuffs, he says he vl call tomorrow but tomorrow never comes. 1 month after that i confronted him argued and he broke up with me. and within 1 month of breaking up his new gf moved in with him. and he says he dont love me anymore and is in love with his new gf who is 10yrs younger than me. i am heartbroken. and i m unable to forget him.

Rochana Tandukar I’m going through something similar me and my ex boyfriend broke up a week ago I’ve been a complete mess but watching these videos gives me some hope and also the fact that we’ve had breakups like this before. My boyfriend said he loves me too but I think he feels me and him are both toxic for each other as of right now. I’m not sure about the time of the breakup or how long you have been with each other but I can say is that try some of the things the coaches tell u. Like no contact and then slowly reel him back in maybe being away from u for a while will make him realize or if u feel like there isn’t any luck try and move on as best as u can! I know it’s hard and it takes a lot of time and patience and realizing the beauty of the world without him but it will get better. I think u have to trust how u truly feel inside to make a decision. Thanks a lot for this video it was very helpful. My boyfriend broke up with me today and I feel very confused. He said it was over then he said he wanted to be friends then changed to saying he wanted time apart to sort himself out as he isn’t ready for a relationship (after a year of being in one with me...) then he said he didn’t want to do this and it wasn’t over and we could try again if I waited for him. I told him that if he need time to himself I understand but I may not he here when he has figured everything out because it isn’t fair on me emotionally. I told him I would have tried anything to continue and fight for us and that when you love someone you try and sort things out. He admitted that he could never love someone like he loved his ex and that she messed up his emotions and feelings forever. I am confused as to what to do as he told me it was done and over then was saying maybe we can be friends and see if we can try again in the future. I told him that he has to respect that I feel too broken right now to see him as a friend and it would be too painful for me. The reason for the breakup was that he has always had issues in the bedroom and I tried discussing it openly with him to go and see a doctor or counsellor to try and get through this together and he said he felt pressured and it wasn’t healthy. He lied to me saying he went to the doctors for blood tests to see if he had any deficiencies and invented huge conversations and appointments that didn’t even happen. I found out then wanted to discuss it in person and from there it all went downhill. Suggestions?

I can really see what you said in my ex but it is not that easy perhaps in my case since it was long distance and he started seeing someone else 6 weeks after the break up. He tried to take care of me after the break up and even whilst seeing this girl and I was mislead into thinking he still cared. I dont think there will be a change in him...

Granted this started off as an affair 9 years ago (wife knew about me and made it very difficult to leave as they had a child). I ended it twice because I was sick of the circumstances. I did no contact eventually on the last one (finally divorced) and he wandered back. Great 4 months and said he was making more effort and it felt like he was. Then he asked me about moving a girl in from work temporarily (he’s still living with parents because of divorce) and I said no. Found out he moved her in. Said there was nothing going on when I confronted him and said he didn’t know if he wanted a relationship anymore. He said he didn’t have feelings for her. He kept saying he didn’t know when we were chatting and I said I wanted this. At the end he said we should split up and go our separate ways “for now” which I questioned and he said “I don’t know” again. I asked him what the problem with me was and he kept saying nothing and it was all him. He also said he was not in a good place and needed this for his sanity. I have not contacted him for 3 months now. I’ve blocked him on social media so he can’t see anything of me. 4 days ago I got upset as it was his birthday and unblocked him and this girl. They’re together. I suspect very close to when we split, if not before. Apparently she knew about me coz I asked what she said when I said no to her moving in. I said she obviously wasn’t threatened by me to which he said “why would she be threatened when she has no feelings for me” I’m destroyed and so hurt. He said he didn’t have the energy for a relationship and would tell me if there was someone else. I don’t understand it. The pain is immense.

Dear coaches, My boyfriend of almost 5 months broke up with me this past Saturday night. I was devastated. We have had a long distance relationship almost the entire time we have been together because we both attend different universities. He told me that he does love and care about me and that I am the best thing that has happened in his life in the past year. Wow, this described my ex of 12 yrs to the t. He cheated on me and out of nowhere said he crossed that line because he just didn't love me anymore.This was literally out of the blue because we have 2 kids a toddler and a 5 month old so idk at what point it happened. Anyways he told our close friend he wants to be by himself and have fun. He moved a few towns over when my friend was giving him a place to stay in our same city. He tells people he doesn't want to be close because he doesn't want to give me hope but I really think he is trying to just keep his word like you said.
