Guy is one of the smartest, most articulate, detailed hair experts and educators. I'm grateful he takes the time to explain his system in great detail and describe various scenarios. How I wish he'd create a non-professional line of color products. In addition, Guy seems so genuinely kind and wise. I love that Guy almost always gets deep into conversations with clients, opening up the topic with his audience. He's an amazing person, such a gem! Much respect and admiration to Guy for all his efforts. xo

As a professional, I really appreciate Guy Tang for multiple reasons. The biggest being continued education is expensive and hard to get (depending on the salon you work at). So I really soak up all his info because of how valuable it is to professionals. Thanks Guy❤️

You are such a beautiful person, inside and out. Don't ever let anyone tear you down... keep smiling. That is our best defence and weapon in life... 1 smile has a ripple effect and can create thousands. I've taught my son that and that our words should build people up, not tear them down... Sending "Zen hugs" your way

These words changed my life forever: “Other people’s opinions of me are none of my business!” The same is true in reverse. Other people don’t need/want my opinion. If I ask or they ask for opinions it’s still just between us. That’s called consideration and respect within a relationship. When someone is speaking negatively about you, what they’re really telling you is what THEY are insecure about in themselves. Maybe they do really just need a hug or a gift.

Guy!!! You are soooo beautiful not only on the outside but inside! I'm in tears hearing the blessings you give to the world! Yes, hurt people hurt people. I'm a cosmetology student 12 months now, only a few to go...as an older person in life this has been the hardest thing I've ever done, some people are soooo cruel and hurtful! I literally pray my way to school and thru school. I try my best to keep my chin up and not let the mean cruel world discourage me...I'm so blessed to have found your videos you are a wonderful and talented human being! This world needs more guy tangs but there is only one 🎉 you are a treasure. I'm opening a salon and I'm using guy tang products 💯. Love to you from me (just a nobody, buy this nobody loves you) God Bless❤

I loved the mini therapy session in the middle of this application. It put me in mind of a teenaged girl I managed while working front end for a supermarket. She was ready to quit because of a customer who was nasty to her every time she got on her line. She was in tears many times after dealing with that woman. I gave her a "tool": I told her to smile and be super polite to every single thing the woman said. She wasn't sure, but I explained to her that if she lost her composure and said something bad to her she would be in the wrong and get herself in trouble, and give the woman the satisfaction of getting her upset, again. The next time the woman was on her line, she tried out my "tool", and was the most agreeable, sweet, smiling person you could ever meet. She couldn't wait to talk to me later to gush about how mad the woman got about how nice and unflappable she was, and that by not losing her own composure, there was nothing the woman could do except try to upset her and frustrate herself when she failed to land anything. By the end of the transaction the woman learned this girl wasn't a good target for her venom, and this girl felt so powerful and in control of not just her reaction to a nasty person, she felt powerful and that she was able to apply that simple advice to every aspect of her life. BTW, that woman no longer went on her line after that. You're right in that 'hurt people, hurt people', and also in the fact that they will continue to do so, right or wrong, until they have no targets. It matters only how we accept or reject what comes at us. It's difficult for many to get there, but soooo worth it when we do. The technique you demonstrated here was beautiful. Thank you for being so generous with your expertise!

I haven’t watched any of your videos in a while and that’s only because I haven’t had to (I’m not a colorist, a hairstylist etc. I teach myself). I just wanted to say that I see a HUGE difference in you, whether it be, you’re perspective on life has changed or your own introspection has become more acute, it’s clear that you’ve grown, incredibly! I know that, for me, that kind of growth follows awareness of pain. If this was the case for you, then I am so proud of you for not becoming stuck there and giving up or into negativity but instead have grown into a deep, transparent individual, who’s kind, honest and is looking for solutions to the problems that cause harm. You spoke of how you, as an adult, we’re hurt by the words of your peers, who for w/e reasons, felt that attacking you would pump up their ego. Well, I have a 14 year old daughter in jr high and 2 boys in high school, another graduated last year. My daughter is most open with her current life and I am disgusted, sickened, by the meanness of the words said to others on social media, things that they’d NEVER say to the face of that person! Suicide is going up in #’s among our children and then parents look back and think, “WHY? I never saw any signs. Did we love her/him enough, did they feel our love enough, did we say it enough?” Well, most likely, it had very little to do with the parent(s) although, maybe being aware that our children/teens are fragile, and need to be 100% positive, beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are loved unconditionally, no matter what, that we have their backs, that we are on their side and that our allegiance is to them, only, because when they’re being taunted online to the point where they feel they have nobody who even likes them and they can’t take any more hurt, they’ll start to think that suicide could be the answer and then the next thought will be, will I be missed? Will anyone give a sh••? My hope is that that, right there, will be what stops them. That as parents, caretakers, friends, have positioned ourselves to be their reason to keep going, that we’ve made every effort to be sure that those we love, our children, the children in our lives, know, beyond a shadow of a doubt that we will always be their safety net. That our love will sustain them through the cruelty of the mean people around them. It’s scary and you are so correct that they need to be teaching this in school, how to treat social media as you would if you were speaking in person. My mother always taught me, never put anything in writing that you wouldn’t want everyone and anyone to read and I remembered that! Why do people not get this? Once you say something online, it’s yours forever. It will either be proof that you were/are a horrific person, someone you’re ashamed of, or that you were someone who your employers, family, future children, yourself, can be proud of? Rather than teaching politics or sex education (not health education, not same) but about how to treat our peers with kindness and respect, online and in person, because “we’re”beginning to losing our humanity!

First off , love the honesty you have always bared your soul to us & I love seeing emotions because so many are numb and expect all to be the same. Two, love the shampoo bowl and three I’m try your line and love your tutorials . Not everyone gonna like you and that’s ok. Hi Guy 🙋🏼♀️❤️ just wanted to drop in and say I have been a loyal follower and fan of ALL ur work and faithful user of ur products-since the very beginning…as I listened to U speak about ur experience, I wanted to chime in and encourage ur continued growth (always have admired ur depth)-from one deep person to another-one who was Greatly discouraged and belittled for being so. It is So wonderfully empowering and refreshing to hear u speak about our choices, decisions and consequences thereof-for the good, as well as the not so good. Keep doing what U do-U R a Blessing not only to those who know u personally, but also those of us who only get to admire U from afar. I pray one day to meet u in person. Blessings to U and ur team❤️🙌🏼😘
