Just realized how useful it is to use the Find My Phone function if you need to fake a phone call! Also, during the Power Save mode will an alarm still go off? (Answer : Power saving mode just turns off the display. Hourly chimes, alarms, and nightly atomic sync all still occur on schedule.) I also hope that they can add a time of day to the reminder function in a future app update.

*Pardon me if I’ve mentioned this here already, but I learned a hidden hack to manually check the last atomic radio signal reception. This was first done by Greg Anderson - The Good Timekeeper, in his review of this model. You access the Diagnostic Mode by pressing buttons B, C, & D (Light, Mode, & Receiving) simultaneously. A “J” or perhaps another letter will appear in the date window. In this instance, that J indicates one of the radio transmitters in Japan. Then pressing C (Mode) “RX” follows the “J” from the previous screen. Subsequently the screen that displays the last radio wave signal reception (not the Bluetooth connection time sync & update) is shown, with another press of the C (Mode) button. It will have “RC” along with the last received date and time. Another depress of the C button will take you to Home Time Mode.*

@@WatchGeek Hi Watch Geek, Hope you are well... I enjoyed your casio video. But I have a little favor to ask. I am looking for a watch with no luck finding one that I want. but I hope you can help me. I would like to buy a watch that will have the following things: - Solar charging - Digital display (with time and date displayed on it, preferably DD/MM) - Mineral Display or higher (no acrylic) - Non Negative Display. - And it should not break the bank. the cheaper the better. Not to sound picky, but I can find some watches that have these characteristics, but at the price I am finding them I would rather buy a smart watch rather than a simple digital display watch, I simply cannot find the motivation to spend so much on a watch. that only tells time and date when I could spend a little more and have a samart one.... anyway... I got to find a watch I like but unfortunately I think the glass is acrylic. Casio W-S210H-1AVEG and casio STL S100H-1A and casio W-S200H-1BVEF I believe these all have acrylic displays, I could not find any reliable consistent information about them. (do not get fooled about these picks, I still would love a round or rectangular display. or a metal face/strap. I am not picky about that. anyway. if you have some advice or you know what watch I can search for that has these characteristics. I would appreciate it

@Douglas Pantera Well you could even go further and say it's 100% perfect if that's exactly what you want/need, but I think we can agree that there's no such thing as a universally "perfect" watch :D The features I was referring to are the ones that even diehard fans of the DW 5600 and GW 5610 frequently complain about in reviews and comments - the things that put the "nearly" in "nearly perfect". As you mention yourself, the ability to choose a DD/MM format is one of them. Another commonly mentioned one is the short backlight duration. Many of these features are included on one model, but not the other, making it impossible to get the best of both worlds - for example, you might love the more contrasty display of the GW5610 but also want the time to be shown in stopwatch mode, which the 5600 does but the 5610 doesn't. There are plenty of these small differences. So, even for people who aren't too bothered about BT connectivity (myself included BTW), the newer models combine a lot of features that people had been asking for in the "nearly perfect" 5600 and 5610 for ages.

The world time is actually better than you described, On the app click on the 1-5 of the time you want to change, then on the world map, there's a small map in top right corner, press that and you can choose anywhere on planet, right down to a specific street and then you name it whatever you want, So you could have, for example, Mum's house as one of your 5 pre chosen places.

Hi, great tutorial. just got this watch and just learn all the function. i want to ask if i am not in the country that able to receive the atomic signal. should i turn off the "receiving mode" ? and what is the difference with "time adjustment" in the app setting? should i turn it off or on? thanks
@WatchGeek6 жыл бұрын
You don't have to turn anything off as the watch switched to Bluetooth only as soon as you pair it with your phone. The App "time adjustment" is used to turn off the Bluetooth while on a plane or in medical institutions so it's to stop the watch from connecting to the phone, not the atomic towers
@toniyang40536 жыл бұрын
@@WatchGeek just watch again your tutorial. you already explain that in 2:36 timeline. i thought by turning the "receiving mode" off, it will save the battery from stress due to no signal in my location. so you suggest always turn "auto receiving mode" on the watch and "time adjusment" in the App to ON for automatic connect to phone? and turn it Off while on a plane or medical istituions.

RCVD means the watch updated the time and it is a kind of guarantee that it is accurate to the second. It disappears when you enter manual time setting or the next day if it failed to update the time overnight. As then the watch can't guarantee the time anymore

Hi, thanks for a great tutorial. A question regarding time-zones if I may as I'm still unsure. If I cross a time-zone, say from London to Paris, my phone automatically updates to the local (Paris) time because it knows where I am via GPS. If I then do a manual sync from the watch to my phone (or wait for one of the automatic ones) will the watch then show also the local (Paris) time like the phone does, or will it still show London time until I manually swap the city I'm in? If it's manual, is there any way of making the local time update automatically like the phone does by getting the location from the phone? Thanks for any advice you can offer.
