Ad mech player here, this is our new generalist detachment. Plays well with everything, has really fun combos, every stratagem works, and most importantly is fun and fluffy. 10/10 will be playing this over hunter cohort every time.

As a player who run Kastelan+knight, this is absolutely the detechment I want to play👍🏻although one unit of robot won't have army rules, but who cares if I can run+charge/pick it to T10 while punching 24 fists/stealth🤭? Also the ally knight with same buff, man that's sweet🙈10/10, just at point in everything🙈

@Sybok51288 Kinda not really. 7th usually gave you rules and a lot of free stuff. 10th its more like picking a chapter, legion, forgeworld, etc and getting rules that align with that.

Admech has always been fine, Admech players just got brain rot. Take a look at the Skitarri Ranger datasheet, for instance: its basically every type of Imperial Guard Squad put together plus some. 4+/5++, with both Sticky and Scout, armed with longer ranged Bolt Guns, a better Plasma Gun, probably the best non-Assassin Sniper Rifle in the game, and a decent vehicle chipping weapon, plus Ignores cover for free. For only 20 points more than a DKoK squad. Plus having a better army rule entirely? Give Admech rules to a Guard player and Admech becomes an Stier faction.

Yeah, but their other stuff is kinda mid, they have good infantry, but their vehicles are kinda mid and admech is still incredibly expensive to collect and even more expensive to make a good list out of because most good lists use a ton of ironstriders and a ton of infantry that is expensive and hard to paint

@@dimagoloborodko6106_va See, this is what I'm talking about. Iron Striders were good for like 3 weeks because they were severely undercosted. They frankly aren't even that good now compared to other options. Onager Dunecrawlers have massive potential damage output, Kastelan Robots with a Cybersmith are nearly unkillable, Pteraxii are no scions but are great for secondaries, and Sicarians are lighting fast and will cut through almost anything in melee. And as for being hard to paint... no. You prime them silver and hit the metal parts with wash and thats 70% of the work. And they are still a fraction of the cost of a Guard Army unless your definition of a Guard Army is 12 Leman Russ Tanks and your definiton of an Admech army is 27 Chick Walkers.

@ kastelan robots arent “nearly unkillable” if you try really hard, then you can get them to toughness 11 with a -1 to hit for enemies targeting them, but that is still very killable with a decent anti tank weapon. I think that you didn’t get the cybernetica data smith rule that the datasmith gets a 4+fnp but that doesn’t really affect the robots. Sicarians are good, but they aren’t doing a lot of damage in melee. Admech vehicles are mid without infantry buffing them, and Guard gets much better vehicles that dont need to be buffed by infantry and is generally cheaper to collect, easier to paint and has just way more options. Admech has very little models, doesn’t get stuff like long range indirect fire(even if it sucks currently) and can’t do stuff like leman russ spam

The Robots also have a 2+/5++ which makes them extraordinarily durable when compared to most other tanks. Not to mention that they are 2 separate robots at smallest unit which means that at best your Gladiator Lancer is killing 1 instead of leaving a Leman Russ on 1 wound. On top of that, the Robots also reflect damage when you get a 6 on your armor save. Sicarians do insane damage for their points costs when going up against Infantry. Anti-Infantry 3+, with the leader getting Dev Wounds on top of that, means that you will absolutely chew through anything smaller than a Custodian. Put them in the Conqueror Imperative and within 6" of a Battleline and Sicarians are probably the single best Custodian killers in the game. Start giving them Strat support and they become at least top 5 Melee units in the game. As if to prove you don't know Admech Rules, Admech vehicles that interact with Infantry buff the infantry, not the vehicles. Furthermore, the Dunecrawler and Disintegrator are both perfectly fine on their own, especially the Dunecrawler armed with Heavy 3 S16 Ap-4 D6+2 damage. Thats statistically without buffs a death Predator a turn, a dead Leman Russ if you get literally just a tiny bit lucky. I've seen it happen. Literally the only actually good Guard vehicles either A.) Need tank Orders to be good, B.) are good because of something other than damage or durability, C.) are the Leman Russ Battle Tank, or D.) need infantry to buff them. The Chimera was literally only good because you could give it scout with Catachans, and Sentinels need orders (which can be from infantry.) And I can't believe you actually buy in to the meme that every Guard list is 12 Tanks. Thats insane, lol. And, again, literally just prime your Skitarri silver and use a wash and thats 70% the work. They are *far* easier to paint if you do that than Guard.

@wyatttyson7737 I can tell you don't play very much. Congrats a lancer can kill one robot a turn.... yeah that makes sense because it's only shooting 2 shots. But let's go back over to other space marine weapons. Let's look at hell blaster a 5 man with oaths and an LT kills a robot a turn a 10 man kills 2 robots and does some leftover damage on average. Lets look at a 6 man cent squad that is cheaper than a full 4 man Kastelan robot squad that can go up down and get +1 ap and bs. On average, it kills 3 robots. There's alot more that can kill them efficiently that is common in most marine armies. Like eradicators multiple balistus, preds, hell even stern guard now even though they might take a few mortals. Also yes Ruststalkers are pretty good vs custodes. In the new halo detachments of they get rerolls of 1 they do a average 9 mortals and like 3 normal damage. So on average they kill 4 custodes which is very good no problems with that. But thats a hyper specific scenario. Which most custodies players will have fight first. So you killing a 4 man squad probably won't happen oftian. If you have any protection vs dev wounds, fight first or are a horde army they start to struggle. Which is why they are mostly used for sniping characters or move blocking. Not some sort of hyper damage threat For the dunecrawler it does not kill a russ on average. Even if it's hitting ona 2+ with benefits of both protocols it averages 7 damage... For our infantry yes Admech infantry is very good but sorry to say a 4+ 5++ isn't keeping them around. Sure you might spike some games but regular bolters with any ap kills them. But yes being 20 or 30 more points then a krieg squad makes sense. They have slightly better weapons and slightly better durability. Oh and no people don't take rangers because they do no damage. When you hit kn a 4+ most of the time it dosent matter if they have "2 shot bolt guns" they are still bolt guns and suck in 10th. You take vanguard they do more damage and have a better ability Admech is good army now. Not some sort of OP army your trying to make people think it is. Yes there faction ability is strong but it's balanced for how poor most of the BS and WS on most of the data sheets. As well it is hinged on taking battline. In which they have to buff your army and play primary and secondaries.

And all the agents...grey knights...assassins.....sisters.(all can be allies). If they wanted this they would have said admech or ally army units not just left the words out. Its a mistake that people are taking advantage of.

It's only two units that get both the doctrina and that special ability. It really isn't that powerful. I can almost guarantee you even if GW leaves this detachment alone admec will not break 500
