Thanks for the vid. I love that you are very non aggressive unlike some other video narrators. You dont use hate speech or swear a lot which is very nice. I can set my niece and nephew down to watch this together. I missed a year right after sunset cove was announced so it is nice to see where things went and what happened.

Thanks man, appreciate all the efforts that went into putting all this together. I've had to take a long break from the game and, even though I'd much rather have more permanent content (whole new maps to explore and expand upon), they decided to stick to their brilliant plan so I'd rather "experience" all the (worth an expansion pack or two or so they say) content I've irremediably missed in this way, and frankly maybe it's for the best...

You're a scholar in the world's least useful field. Looking forward to the next video; I couldn't play any of the living story since Dragon Bash.

Its funnny, a big part of me wanted to do this living story recap in the same style of those! But they're just so complicated to make... I am planning on contiuning, we're in factions at the moment, but I think we'll just have to accept that it's going to be big gaps between parts. As for the Gw2 lore, most of it should make sense from all the Tyria stuff we already did!

i just got back to gw2 and i missed first season and i feel so disepointed that i cant play season 1, i started on S2 and i got thrown in a random quest with characters that i have never met acting like they know me and i should know them and its realy putting me off

Awesome idea with the Living Story recap! Also glad to see that the Living Story is getting pretty good by now. Was quite impressed with the QJ open ceremony, better than most personal story mission imo, especially in terms of presentation. Also Faren is in it, so it can't be bad. :P

I joined the Karka event, was epic and I didn't have lag issues. Was awesome, but ended up being about the last time I played GW2 for a long time. Had I known all this was going on I would have stuck around.

Fun fact (if not already mentioned) Levvi (sp?) the asura that does the research, is the same asura that helped build the scanners used for the Halloween event to find the ghosts. She is kinda the go-to gadget person.

I would note that the Living Story, from all I have seen, does take place after the events of the Personal Story. Zhaitan is dead, Destiny's Edge is reunited, etc. From what I recall, it was Zhaitan's death that caused the Deep Sea Dragon to start awakening, which is what originally drove the Karka to the surface to begin with.

one thing I found out during the secrets of southsun that might be interesting was a letter/message to Knoll lying around somewhere there. after a 'don't read, not for outsiders'-note (which I ignored of course^^) it criticised Noll for beeing behind shedule or something AND that the not archieved indoctrination of the settlers would NOT be a optional matter, after all the suspection that they might not be as friendly as they want you to think THAT one made me really disagreeing with them.

No the DSD has been influencing races since launch and years before. Quaggan, largos, krait... they're all deep sea races pushed out of their homes.

Nice video, I realized that for many chapters I have - even though I've been present - missed parts of the story. Especially since they began releasing content every two weeks, a difficult exam or a vacation is all it takes to miss stuff. Therefore it's great being able to watch videos like this one to keep up with everything! One question though: if you're uploading a video for every LS chapter, will it be only story or will you discuss other content such as new features as well? :)

I actually like it more when WP explains it in these videos, y'know? You read the lore and some of it doesn't make sense, quests and missions don't make sense...when you're playing you're focus is not on putting all the pieces together. So WP please keep it up with these vids so I can know 100% what's really going and I'm not so clueless when I'm playing. These vids will also help greatly during my occasional sabbaticals I take from the game. So I love the vids, love ya WP, keep it up!! =D

They do 2 weeks as it is a steady, quick pace, they used to do it monthly and that wasn't enough. Though they also have more teams since. In about a month can we really judge as then the 4 teams that have recently started (used to be one) have their 8 weeks of development per update.

have u noticed that with the aetherblades there r also steam creatures atacking the baloons in jubile? the steam creatures where created by an asura in an alternate dimension .. the consurtium got fundet by an asura.. an asura could be a city dweller and the skypirates r conected with the inquest wich could have contact with that asura .. dosent that seem like a funny cohinsidense? :)

Well all the events that set up the situation that we have now in GW2. None of it happened in GW1. There was no 5 big-ass dragons ruling the world in GW1 nor did they make an appearance except for 1 for just a tiny bit. There was no Syvari. No Destiny's Edge and by the time GW2 started, there wasn't even a Destiny's Edge anymore! All the events that set up GW2 are in books and from GW2 wiki. It's been around 247 years between GW1 and GW2. A lot of things happened then that we didn't experience

i think the girl braham was interested is a little fishy. becausee the molten alliance took her, then braham raid facilities looking for her but she was nowhere to be found. then once the alliance was defeated she just popped up fine. it all seems suspicous to me.

tbh I was failing on my main, a ranger, switched over to my necro, and bamwhamthankyoumama, it was a lot easier. I mean come on, DS, spectral skills, torment, fear, aoe bleeds like crazy, plague form and even minions ( yes minions, boy do they help a lot with Chomper). Goodgod Candidate trials actually helped me with something, learning a condi necromancer build inside and out.

Watching your video and hearing the story behind all the patches is great and is in reality interesting, but the issue comes from presentation. The problem is that people do not want to go on the official site to read short stories presenting pieces of the lore and talking to every NPC in town just to get a small part of the puzzle. If the story is presented with better curscenes and voiced dialoges, it will impress. And for god's sake, make a afterwards cutscene to give an epilogue.It's needed.
